Tandoori (formerly Persian Palate) | Dumaguete Info

What: Tandoori (formerly Persian Palate)

Where: Cor. Sta. Catalina & San Juan Streets, Beside La Residencia Almar, Dumaguete City

Salam (Hello)!Tandoori is a restaurant which offers Persians Persian Cuisine/Middle Eastern Cuisine. I believe it was a franchise when they still operated under the name “Persian Palate”. I wonder why they changed it to Tandoori. Tandoori means cooked in a clay oven usually after being marinated in a mixture of yogurt and spices.

The Interiors: The decors of Tandoori is eye-catching and swell. There is this really cool chandelier which hangs by the ceiling. Duh..LOL. They also have a painting of a Persian lady on their wall, which adds a dramatic effect to the place. I was really pleased with Tandoori’s interiors and I felt comfortable inside the restaurant as well.

The Menu: The restaurant serves a lot of different Persian dishes. It’s really hard to choose what to eat if you have all the budget in the world. Now the picture of the menu below is only half the deal because if you flip it over..tada..another list of dishes appears. As I’ve said, Variety is Pretty. In my case, I knew what I would order beforehand.

Did You Know? I have special memories with someone in this restaurant. ^_~

THE FUN PART

What I Ate:

_Papadum – _This is what I had for my appetizer. I wouldn’t call it that though as it was more like a snack. But it was goooood! Papadum is a crisp Indian recipe, which is sometimes called as a cracker or a flatbread. With every bite you could taste the spices mixing up and tickling your palate. It also comes with a dip, a generous serving of mango jam.

This Papadum is a steal! Check out the price below!

_Budget Chello Kebab – _Remember how I said that you would have a hard time choosing a dish in their menu? Well, I didn’t. I opted for the Budget Chello Kebab. Duh. I’m a student, which means I have to stick with my budget. My mom would be so proud! So this dish was basically beef and I have no idea how they made it look like a flattened sausage. This was accompanied by tomato rice, which is supppperrr yummy, and a whole tomato, which was probably grilled. You will also be given servings of garlic sauce and hot sauce plus free refills! So what I did was this: Kebab + tomato rice + tomato + garlic sauce + hot sauce + then put it all in your mouth = orgasmic food sensation! That basically means I love this meal.

_ Enjoyi_**ng my meal…Mmmmm Yum

The Result:

I’m definitely coming back! I’m actually a bit hungry right now. So if you want a little spice in your meal, Tandoori is the restaurant for you. Khodahfez(Goodbye)!
