    I don't know.
If/when you settle here PH for the longer term you will not find this strange at all, or that your In-Laws will be giving you wrong information and don't ever expect Filipinos to think about tomorrow, they will just wait till the next day to think about that?

It is more Fun in the Philippines provided you keep your expectations at a very low level.

I read his dribble and feel he would not be happy even if he won the powerball loto, got an IRS exempt and woke up each morning with a supermodel.
Dumaguete can be as good or as bad as you choose to make it, don't let the negativity of 1 stop anyone from visiting the city we call home!!!!

Singapore had a good method around 30 years ago.. The primary production department would send out notices on radio, TV, news papers and post on street corners that they would be controlling dogs on such and such day if they were not in yards or chained up..Even to the point if the owners were walking them without a leash..The person would get a fine of around $100. Any uncontrolled/stray dogs were shot.. The offshore base's in Jurong and Loyang were favourite dumping grounds for unwanted pets.. You know those cute birthday and christmas puppy's that got too big to stay in an HDB flat. The packs of dogs in those places was dangerous if you were walking. Primary production would come with an old beat up Toyota pickup and start shooting.. A truck load of feral dogs on a Sunday morning was easy and from what i heard they went to the zoo where the lions and other big cats quite enjoyed them.

Take a look through the forum using the search. There are a lot of threads. There are a lot of different sorts of schools here.

    Here's a list from Wikipedia.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_schools_in_Dumaguete

If I had a kid here, I would probably just take the kid into each school (of those which are on your list of acceptable options) and have the kid pick the place.

You might also see if you can talk to instructors. From my elementary through (some) college, I only ever remembered my best instructors. The biggest name professors don't do much for your education if they can't teach well. There are diamonds in the rough.

Maybe look in Facebook for groups formed around schools or education in Dumaguete in general.

Don't totally write off the religious schools. I helped put a group of kids through St Paul, Silliman and Foundation and the kids didn't turn out brainwashed.

Schools like Foundation and Silliman have classes for kids all the way up through college. Silliman is also considered one of the best schools here.

That may be the cheapest option. You could ride up front and they would all ride in the back quite happily. If I had to do it I would go to the Jeepney terminal at the back of Robinsons with a gf who could speak the local language and get her to start asking driver's what they would charge for a private trip to Simala and back.

I don't see where they broke down the type of death by country. I see an example of a two idiots (or possible drunks) that didn't know how to drive jet-skis. Thailand didn't make them stupid or kill them, not knowing how to safely operate a jet-ski did that. How many of the "accidents" had alcohol and motor vehicles in the mix? I don't consider accidents involving alcohol as "accidents"....but maybe the Thai government does.

Thailand didn't make Aussies old or kill them by natural causes (blame time for that).

"Illness" is a pretty broad term. How are they recording these illnesses? Elderly people dying of things that wouldn't kill a younger healthier person?

Missing persons? How many wanted to go missing? Asia is a great place to get lost if you want. I'm sure there are some that were snatched up but....

In jail overseas? Stop overstaying your visas, getting in bar fights, doing/transporting drugs and raping little kids. Pretty easy to not get arrested with a bit of common sense.

I bet if they required an IQ test before letting people travel abroad these numbers would go down drastically.

If it is possible to go on a Sunday, then leave from Sibulan on the first Maayo ferry at 6 am Sunday morning and you can be in Cebu shortly after 9 am. Just follow the coast. Thats the only time you can do it that fast. Coming back, Sunday evening, leave Cebu by 5 pm at the latest to catch the 9 pm sailing back to Sibulan/Duma

Had a nasty experience this week, had booked flights for this April through them back in January, got an email saying two of my booked flights were cancelled but they could help me out if I was willing to pay double. One of those flights wasn't even actually cancelled, so probably overbooked and throwing out the customers with the cheapest tickets lol.
Obviously no way I'm going to pay more than I already did to correct something that should be on the airline to correct free of charge, so I cancelled the whole thing through kiwi and applied for a refund (which I am pretty sure won't happen).
I booked again through a different channel but because it's much closer to the departure date I had to pay through the nose anyway to get replacement tickets.

Anyway, lesson learned, I will henceforth study the conditions page better when booking through an agent, and not book through kiwidotcom again ever.
