My wife told me the cost of his bridge was 12,000,000. I'm guessing they used solid gold nails which were not suitable for large stresses.
Obviously they need some courses in material science in the engineering courses.

I hope not 12M USD.....but for $230k USD that is still ridiculous for what it is. I wonder if one of the guys that got wet was from the company contracted to construct it.

A good one to add to the thread "cons of living in the Philippines."
    Shoddy construction.

I was listening for somebody speaking “binisaya” but I only hear a couple of tagalogs and the rest was unfamiliar until at the end when a lady “salamalaikumed” so I checked the title. Duh, not Zamboanguita! Classmates always said Zambo back then.

Also, if it is for TV many times it will be Filipino spoken by the politicians/people that matter. I believe in Zamboanga City you are going to hear a Spanish creole (can't remember the actual name of the language) being spoken.

They seem to be speaking tagalog in the video. The spanish is chavacano which is the local language.

I hope no one was injured, but I found this on the internet (it refers to a book donation service, but seems apt here): "Bridge to Asia provides the infrastructure to acquire the best materials and deliver them to people who can best use them."
