I've lost 30lbs myself since arriving the last week of January

I'm down to 180 or less, there's just not that much worth eating. Plus I often just eat pineapple, bananas, watermelon etc from the market or vendors.

It's an acquired taste, the food you eat growing up will be your norm.
I grew up in Dumaguete where as a young kid a climb a mango tree for the "raw" green mangoes back in the 70's and a foriegner walk by and ask, is that edible? yes they are!

I remember we'll order some "chicken salad", it's actually macaroni salad, except i'ts sweet, with pineapple chunks, raisins, mayonaise or condensed mil and bits of chicken.
Barbecue in the philippines is not the same barbecue in the US, anything cooked with charcoal is called barbecue in the philippines.
