Spent yesterday in Valencia at The Forest Camp. It's 30 minutes from my house and has really nice grounds which include 5 fresh water pools that run out of the mountains. It's COLD water and super clean. Princess and I packed up a picnic basket (yes, romantic like hahah) and spent the day here having a picnic and swimming in the cold springs. 80P entrance fee. Here's a few pics I thought I would share
Thanks for the nice comments everyone :-) @ PatO: not during the daytime. But, it's a different picture at sundown i'm sure. Good breeding ground for them. :-)
My fiancee, myself and family stayed at Forest camp overnight on one of my sight seeing trips in the philippines. Mosquito's were not a problem when we were there. We stayed in one of the bamboo huts there. Very comfortable and relaxing we thought. The food was great and the staff were helpfull and polite. A beautiful place with beautiful people. you do the Philippines proud.
Great Place to visit I have experienced forest camp. At least these pictures do it justice. If you go during the week is is very peaceful and quiet. I do not know about the weekends, food and snacks are available, and entry cost is pretty minimum. It is a very beautiful place to visit and enjoy, particularly is you like nature at all. The pools are used for swimming, and there is a lot of family type activities going on, ie: barbecues, and picnics. I did not see any mosquitoes but left before sundown. This is all moving water, the pools are fed off the river and cascade from one pool to another finally existing to the river. For the engineer types the hydraulics are interesting....no pumps. There was little standing water on the site when I was there a couple of months ago, consequently there were not many mosquitoes, the chickens are fun and may keep the mosquitos down?
I shall asked my friends there. At the moment I am home here in Australia. I was told that there was a lot of damage around that area with roads, buildings, bridges etc. I am due to return shortly so will find out.
