I personally think the bottom line is that the people who beheaded those 10 folks should be held accountable, regardless of whether the soldiers should have been there or not. The 10 were not killed in the heat of a battle, they were systematically, maliciously, and pre-meditatedly beheaded. That is not a muslim way, that is simply murder.

    All war is murder, period.
Nothing glamorous or glorious about it.

Like the great man once said, war begets war, violence begets violence"

If one looks past the bells, whistles and flag-bedeckled bullshit, its just a moneymaker for evil rich greedy people at the top.
In the US they crank up a war about every 20 years or so to loot the treasury of money that would normally go for social programs.

Remember the CIA trained and financially supported the original Al-CIA-da militants in Afghanistan in the 1980's.

And the CIA is right now involved in running heroin out of that country.

The spooks were mighty proud of their boys when the Soviets packed up and went home.

    Hey Mark,

Actually my wife was planning to visit relatives in Basilan, alone, but she's changing her mind after hearing the news.

Those people that chops heads must be cold blooded killers, even in the grounds of political conflict its awful to see chop heads of humans, worse if you're to ask to chop off live soldiers' heads, really unimaginably gross .Only savage barbaric evils can do that.

In world conflicts, it seems muslim fundamentalists really enjoy the brutalization of corpses.. From AFG, Iraq, to Africa and the phils... They cut heads of. Burn, cut and torture for fun and effect. The post thier handiwork all over the internet. To share thier glory with fellow "radicals". Yet when someone else gets angry an recipricates the acts, the entire muslim world becomes indignant. The next time we see these large gatherings of "radicals" desecrating one of our dead, we should just drop some ordie on em.

Philippine forces are about to move in on Muslim separatists following a failed deadline.

The deadline passed when the rebels failed to give up those who ambushed 14 marines on the southern island of Basilan.

Ten of the marines were mutilated and beheaded.

The military had given the Moro Islamic Liberation Front until Sunday to hand over those involved in the July ambush or face a fight.

But the rebels rejected the warning and say they are prepared for all-out war.

Officials in Basilan say up to 9,000 villagers have already fled from the town of Tipo Tipo ahead of the assault.

Army ground commanders say the fighting could spill over to other parts of the southern Philippines.
