I would certainly stay away fro the water especially in the Sibulan area, as the islands of Cebu and Negros create just such a "bottleneck".

Yeah man surfs supposed to hit a record high for my surf trip to surigao surf capital. We just arrived today and debating the boat ride and surf board rental ,What a time for hunting big waves cause if thats what I came looking for-I think I found em but why do i feel like calling my mom to say i wanna go home? Surf trip my @$$, I'm not gettn on no boat to see no waves and i just forfieted my hotel by the shore and got a dirtier one just cause its uphill and thats cleaner than tsunami debris...Go hunting big waves you just may find em and wish you didnt..

Yes indeed! Philvolcs reported this morning that massive 10-20 centimeter (above normal) waves lashed the eastern seaboard last night. News channels cite thousands of plastic bags and other assorted trash reportedly missing from up and down the coast.

 

I was hoping a big Lapu Lapu would come through Gunther's door last night, but it didn't happen, settled for tuna sashimi and great beef enchiladas. It was quite calm but there were many dinner reservation cancellations.

I find it strange that no before & after pic's were posted here after the Indonesian earth quake that killed a 'few more' than this month's one in Japan. Guess technology & sensationalism, have become more 'developed' over the last few years.
