    Duel threads!

 Rhoody! we seem to be running two (2) threads that have converged onto the same issue " The manilla Incident " is there any way you can link these two threads together as it is getting a little confusing. :o

I think a better question would be " if you needed assistance, what level of assisance could I/you expect from the PNP".

Earlier threads have suggested "a" city in "a" country can be as dangerous as any other, if you happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Its the level of assistance and support that you might need if you had a problem.

As for the Philippines, my suggestion is that "you are on your own".

Aside from the gross incompetence, its the level of denial that worries me. From reports today some of shots into the bus came from some disatance from the scene, and everyone seems to more interested in covering their and other peoples backs.

The Philippines continues to slide further backwards.

JP, that would be even more confusing as they would be in time order and as most of they posts don't quote the part they are answering to you would have a very mixed up thread.

As the safety question is basically answered many times, just some food for thoughts...

One question which really bothers me that all happened just a few minutes from foreign embassies away, where I am sure that at least in two of them have Swat Teams with proper training and equipment (not even saying that each guard there is better equipped and trained).

Another issue jumped in my mind when reading the post about the fired workers in HK. While reading I totally agreed to it, but on a second thought I actually understand the Chinese people.

Don't most of us prejudge about 1,2 Billion People because of some few idiots?
You never said/thought stuff like, well there are Moslems... , at least i did and that without any own bad experience. As a matter of fact I traveled a lot in this countries and know quite some here, all nice people - different cultures, opinions and views but nothing at all which scared me.

I am 99.9% sure who would get a job in "our" free, educated first world when two equal qualified applicants but different religions apply for the same position.

Now we talk about a countries reaction, where the population was and is still very restricted in terms of information, traveling and much more. Yes, it is sad, but happens in our free first world all the time that we discriminate a whole group because of some misguided idiots.

I personally think we should try to sweep in front of our doorsteps first before marking others with a red X.

NO, this is not a religious discussion and I won't allow that here, just replace the above mentioned with football (European) fans. 5 stupid hooligans are enough to say xxx-Fans are brutal and it is dangerous to visit their stadium with 70.000 people, or any other group of people

anyway, Kumbaya and happy weekend to all

    Rhoody
