Jack, you seem to be terribly confused, not only on the number. (13A).

On a 13A you never have to leave the country. If you obtained you visa in the Philippines, you must return to BI and convert it from temp to permanent within one year. After that you just need to pay the P310 each year and renew your I-card every 5 years. You do NOT need to leave the country, unless like me you consider Cebu or Manila a different country.

It is a resident visa for living here. There is NO BI requirement to leave for any length of time, ever.

With the 13A, (temp or permanent) you do not need an onward ticket. It is a resident (immigrant) visa, and there must have been some miscommunication with the airlines.

When you enter most countries, your passport must be valid for at least 6 months. If you are entering on a 59 day visa, they will want your passport to be valid for 6 months beyond that date. (Or contemplated length of stay)

Persons entering on NON immigrant visas must show onward ticket, and leave the country periodically. Usually immigration does not ask one for an onward ticket, the responsibility falls on the airline.

Many people state they have never been asked for an onward ticket, but most of these people would fall under the category of having a R/T ticket on the same airline, in which case the airline can see their itinerary right on their screen and see the return ticket, so they have no need to ask.

    Hope this helps,

    Larry

I had the same problem a while back with the expiration. Took my passport into the American Embassy in Thailand and had it renewed, took about 2 weeks. Also got a 48 page one because I travel so much. You should be able to do the same in the PI.

I Contacted the Phil Embassy in Madrid and they have told me to Present myself to BI on Arrival in July and the conversion can still be done as I am still in the Year of issue.
The Passport side is done now and I have Renewed. So my friends there, and I hope I can call you all friends, Thank You all again for the Support and Advice.

    Regards Jack P.
