Clapton (before Cream), Taylor and one of the Fleetwood guys...

can we go back to music now and not to almost dead people who can't walk by themself and don't have to be carried on the stage ... hehe
The only reason for not walking is being too drunk... but you can still crawl and all men play on 10...
RHB, we have a mental date already... AC/DC are just to young for you..(average 56 years old) hehe
Tipmart, talking about Deep Purple... who is who on that picture

Blackmore, Paice, Lord, Gillan and Glover. Was lucky enough to catch one of Blackmores last concerts with them in France in 75. Ooooopps, giving away my age now!!! (I was a teenager!!)

No live album has ever come close to this. 36 yrs old and still the best

First prize goes to tipmart, Got all the answers first, good for one free beer.

Peter Green i would have to agree, most under recognized of the three, founded Fleetwood Mac, with John Mcvie.
It was sad in a way that Tayolr left for the stones, it made him rich and famous, but many think he lost all artistic freedom and his art suffered as a result of having to play the "formula " stones music.
Clapton was just to good to hold back, arguably the best blues interpreter of the era. Heard him three years ago in a concert, Twice in the 60's with Cream. he lost almost nothing, his maturity made up for any lack of energy he may have left behind. By the way Certain groups were studio bands, other were live bands. Creams studio albums were stiffled and over produced, thanks to Felix Pappilardi, but in concert there was simply no power trio who could match there musicianship and energy. Hendrix came close.

If you take two groups from England in the mid sixties, the Yardbirds, and the Bluesbreakers, you have the building blocks of what became the Iconic groups of the 60's 70's to follow, clapton, Page, Green, Mcvie, Jack Bruce, Aynsly Dunbar, Mick Taylor, Jeff Beck. And if you add the Graham Bond Organization, add Ginger Baker and John Mclaughlin to the mix.

Without these guys there would be no ACDC or other subsequent "heavy metal" copy cat bands. the level of musicianship and versatility stagnated with the "long hair" form during the 70's and 80's. notable exceptions Eddie Vanhalen, and John Bon Jovi who werent afraid to stretch their style and musical talents. Oh and Black Sabbath had one drummer of note, played some weird time signatures. All opinion of course, but supported by many of us geezers.

Remember we have the benefit of having heard it as it happened from the 50's right through, not just listening to papas record collection :-)

Lets face it Rhoody your getting old like the rest of us, ACDC only slightly younger than grandpa age.

Great video, I remember the BBC had on the whole concert from the Carnegie Hall. The 3rd guitarist with his trademark flying V is Lonnie Mack.
