thanks for all the input on ac electric fans that have a battery backup.
i went to cdr king 1st and they ''where out of stock'' but do-it hwd. had a couple of ac/dc fans but not what i was looking for so i followed up on others store recommendations and turns out, uymatiao, which is only a few doors from my hotel, had several firefly models and i bought one from them. one thing i learned is, firelfy, akari and probably kiowa are all the same, just different labels.

if your shopping for one of these fans, pay attention to whether it will run on *both* ac and dc, some do, some don't and some won't run when charging. i asked for demos and glad i did.
