Does anyone have any recommendations of places to visit in the Philippines according to these simple criteria:

    1. Must be clean and uncrowded.

    Err, that's it really.

Actually, that was a little joke on my part ...

Does anyone have any recommendations of places to visit in the Philippines according to these simple criteria:

    1. Must be clean and uncrowded.
    2. By the sea
    3. Picturesque
    4. No noise or air pollution
    5. Must have 24 hour internet access
    6. Must have non-Philippino restaurants
    7. Decent diving is a 'nice to have'

I've travelled a good few places in the Philippines now and the only one that comes close is El Nido in Palawan - very beautiful. Only problem is that the place only has 12 hours electricity per day (there's talk that next year things might change).

    Anyone got any other suggestions?

    Zambesi,
I have the perfect place for you... ANYWHERE but NOT in that country.
Leave the philippines, you don't belong here !!!

so this is my insult and now the reasons:
1: it should be clean and uncrowded.... sure, where do you think the money for cleaning comes from, from the fisherman, that Sir Zambesi has his beach...

    2. by the sea .... see 1.

    3. picturesque: each natural beach, even with local people partying... sorry man that is life here... the ocean brings rubbish in and washes it away again, but for that see point 1 again...

    4. around 7000 islands of the philippines are like that, choose one

5.ooooh the sir needs 24 hours internet, but wants everything without any other people arround

    6. now there must be a place with tourists that Sir can have a non-philippino restaurant because no tourists, no non-philippino restaurant...

    7. you don't like diving here anyway...

conculsion: there are some places where you can find what you want. you can book a whole Island for you, with all of that, ( the night is 7.500 US$ in low season)
but I guess this is above your limit...

Man, you are completely wrong in this contry, go back where you came from...

good, now the moderators can kick me of the board...

    good night Maryfee

Zambezikid, try browsing in the internet DAKAK PARK AND BEACH RESORT, Dapitan City. It is so peaceful and guests are mostly westerners. They almost have what you are looking for. From Dumaguete, board the Ocean Jet and you will be there in less than 2 hrs. Or if you prebooked, a party will welcome you at the wharf and will take you to the magical place.... Dakak Park and Beach Resort.   Good luck on your search.

Thanks very much for the suggestion Chrissar, I'll look it up on the web.

See, it really doesn't take that much effort to be civil (not referring to you there Chrissar) ...

Anyone got any other suggestions for places, islands, areas, rather than specific resorts?

I know who you are referring to Zambezikid. She has no right to treat you like that. She is full of bitterness and she needs to calm down. Be civil to one another and the world is a better place to live in.

Ouch Maryfee, you having menstrual problems right now?

I don't find your post insulting Maryfee, I just think it adopts a contemptuous tone towards me.

I made a courteous posting and asked a sensible question that should be of interest to all the forum members. But you just pour scorn on my attempts, presumably because you don't agree with my criteria, which are really not that demanding.

Well that's up to you if you don't like my idea of a nice holiday destination, but you just twist my words to suit your own agenda.

Your response is merely an attempt to ridicule me. It really should not be too much to ask of members to treat each other with common decency. If you can't manage that then don't expect others to give you the same courtesy.

    Hello Zam,
Try surfing Club Paradise. It is the only resort in an island belonging to the Coron group of islands in Northern Palawan.
I was there with my wife about 8 years ago and we really had some memorable moments there. I also recommended it to a newly-married friend for their honeymoon. He could not thank me enough 'cause his wife was still gushing over their experience weeks after they came home. This resort meets all of the items in your criteria except for the internet connection (well, that was 8 years ago so they may have one now).

Oh by the way, do not mind one of our pseudo-members who is trying to ruin other people's day. Some of us had also a run-in with this person and it is better to ignore him or her. Have a good day and good luck on your resort paradise hunting.

Excellent stuff Boyette. I will indeed have a look there too.

    Actually, just to clear up a mis-understanding. :o ...

When I referred to El Nido, I wasn't referring to the luxury resort group, I was actualy talking about the village/town/area. I was meaning that the whole area is very clean and beautiful, not just that one resort. The region is still quite natural and unspoiled, yet it has good choices of food etc (Philippino restaurants are no good for me cos I'm veggie :( ). Good for both budget travellers and upmarket tourists that like to 'splash the cash'.

O' for goodness sake, it's only kid asking ,no need to be rude ( people knew who i mean) . helpful suggestions doesn't cost a penny.

If anyone so stressed up,take a deep breath , take a walk outdoors and get some fresh air , this might work to calm down a bad hairy day.LOLS

Oh well Z'kid ,my foremost recommedation was el Nido, love that area in terms of beaches and so picturesque ,but you've been there.I think most of Palawan has unspoilt nice beaches , from Elnido to the southermost point but internet connection and good life preservation of being near a non-pinoy restos in the south might be a question.Have you been to Port Barton? Seem beaches there are cleaner, and has some diving, has various non flipino restaurants to choose from , some hikings inland too and waterfalls ,or can hop to other remote uninhabited islands .We had done some camping in one of those beautiful white sandy beach islands off port barton for 5 days ,with all provisions ,good adventure.saw some small sharks near the coast .We aren't divers but snorkeling was good. But this was 13 yrs ago.Might have change a bit now though.

I would mention Sipalay ( in eastern side of negros ) as somehow would closely fit in, uncrowded whitish sugary to light brown beaches ,far reaching views , little islets and empty coves ,relatively clean or depends how you classify what is clean to you .Some resorts down the beach has internet connections ,but we haven't been on the internet when there so couldn't say how good the connection is .It has some diving, and various non filipino restaurants. Most resorts there seem owned by europeans .You can google sipalay and diving ,that might you give you some idea. It's not very touristy there yet but I'm not surprised next few yrs or within a decade might be.Sipalay as what we saw lately is closely similar to how boracay looks in 1989 .Sipalay has plans to build an airport there for local and international charter flights as heard of,even in Bacolod will soon have international airport for korean flights.
