⌛ Best Hamburger in Dumaguete

Tried the burgers and chili dog with my daughters yesterday. It's not an empty boast, the burgers are THE best here. Unfortunately, we had to have it "to go" as the ambiance wasn't conducive for a family meal. My eldest daughter wanted more of it late last night but was afraid to go there by herself. She settled for a Quarter Pounder at McDonald's and said it didn't compare. Rightly so

 

I also tried the burgers and fries are very good at Gi Gies, Ricos is a friendly
guy, made me feel very welcome.

Visiting GiGie's

Thanks for the compliments on the Burgers. I will pass it on to Joan, the cook. She does do an excellant job.

As for the ambience, Gigie's is a neighborhood bar. In the morning it is filled with expats eating burgers, drinking beer, playing cards and just plain talking.

At night it is filled with filipinos singing the videoke machine, drinking beer, eating tocino and just talking.

I have had many families visit in the afternoon and in the ealy evenings. However, because it is primarily a bar, it mat not be for all families.

It is full of people laughing, drinking and having a good time. While the drinking may make some customers more exuberant. I would not worry for your safety or that of your family. You would never have a problem getting a carry out burger.

I would however again state that the GiGie's is a Bar, and the launguage and actions of the patrons, while not harmfull. May not be what you would want your children to hear.

I am glad that you enjoyed your visit and look forward to seeing you again.

Hello. I was in the corner of Ron's bar nursing a Coca Cola, just having finished a burger. Had two that day. Glad you dropped in and hope to see you there in the future. As for families eating at Ron's, I have seen many expats with their wives and children eating there with no problems.

We must have come in too early then, shortly before 11am. You're right, your people are nice. We might try having our burgers there later this week. The problem with takeout is my kids eat my sandwich after they eat theirs (I drive):D What was left of my chili dog was excellent however, we're loving the veggies!

 

My gf and I visited Gigie's last week, she enjoyed the "burger", however the CR needs cleaning, its nasty. It was so bad she nearly vomited the "burger".

 

I couldn't comment of Gigies CR,but just to connect this with my experience in Moalboal,we went to this Italian resto very close to Eve's koisk,their pizza was really nice we had two massive ones,very nice shakes too but when we went to the toilet ,geeez there's no water, squat right on the floor tiolet in one ( could picture drunken men pissing freely on the toilet wall instead ) and both weren't flashed ,so filthy as if since day before ,not tiled but of rough cement lining the floor,stinks like hell that time i wish i had brought with me a bottle of bleach at least my shoes wouldn't be stepping on the strong urine stench floor ,even between the two toilets.Why i'm making so much fuzz , it was very close to the kitchen only few strides away,i can even see the cook making his dough.Considering moal-boal panagsama is tourist diving spot for decades over that side of Cebu, the manager a filipina should have known toilet is one important point in a resto,nothing would please one so much for a nice comforting release in a clean toilet (plus plus if it's tiled and scented with paper towels will be a bunos) before or after enjoying a nice meal...and the flies dear o dear, at least it's not halu-halu i'm might have some form of dysentery.

 

LOL...I've never understood why Filipino establishment have such cr@p CR's. Doesn't bother me much.....I can stand up and get it over with...But women, including my wife who is really scathing on this topic...aint so lucky.

What I find grossly hilarious is, even nicer establishments in Manila, some otherwise great restaurants and clubs CR's will be absolutely atrocious...They'll have some lame attendant handing out toilet paper and expecting a tip...while the walls are layered with excrement....

Maybe it's a cultural thing, I've seen worse in the Middle East...but also seen better almost everywhere in Asia...anyway.....trust me...tourists, residents, and citizens are not impressed at all. Way past time for business owners to do the obvious...keep the bloody CR's clean....

 

A-bloody-men!! Just because we don't have long noses like the westerners, doesn't mean we can't smell!! :D

 

Don't we all need clean CRs ESPECIALLY THE LADIES, after glass or glasses of beers ??????
