San Mig Pilsen is a very good beer, a bit lighter than xxxx, but has a good taste. Probably just a bit smoother than xxxx, and has 5% alcohol.

San Mig Light, is also a nice beer, but does not taste as good IMHO as the Pilsen.

The only airline with direct non stop flights between Brisbane and Manila is Qantas.
One flight a week on Thursday. Departure Brisbane:13:20 and arrival in Naia 1 Manila 19:05.
Manila has 4 airport terminals Naia 1,Naia 2,Naia 3 and domestic.
As of now these terminals are only connected outside the airport terminal with taxi or shuttlebus (some are free some cost 20 pesos)
Qantas flys on Naia 1.
Flights between Manila and Dumaguete depart in Naia 2 (Philippine airlines) or Naia 3 (Cebu Pacific)
Without delay of the incoming international flight count at least 3 hours between arrival and departure in another terminal.

Interesting...it used to be twice a week for QF on that route...Anyway the distance from NAIA 1 to NAIA 2 (PAL)...and I've only done it about a zillion times...is around 250-300 metres...at most. I've pushed many a trolley load there...Good sidewalk by the way. Nice and wide, and no hassles...But since QF gets there too late...for a connecting flight to Dumaguete as it will be after 20:00 by the time you clear customs and immigration...it's a moot point. Better to rest up and spend a pleasant night in Manila!...which we like to do anyway. All the best Brian....you are in for a hell of an adventure....and most likely one you will like! Given a choice between Brisbane and the Philippines on a pension - no doubt which one I'd choose....

Also please be aware that Cebu Pathetic does not use a "Jet Bridge" for boarding/deplaning passengers at Duma or NAIA. You must climb multiple steps or be charged for wheelchair assistance......

Sorry for the long delay, PC problems and flat tack here, slowly gathering necessary information... O-xI

At some stage next year when I head off; Melinda will be meeting me in Manila, we will have a week staying at her Sisters house in Paranaque, so as to do any form lodging that we need to do before setting off to her home in Dumaguete, she is pretty sure there are direct flights between Manila and Dumaguete, so will be looking into that one further...

I will be looking at hiring a 5/7-Seater Van or small 4x4 for approximately a month while I am there to save stumbling around on Crutches, hopefully around the Maluay/ Dumaguete/ Zamboanguita area... I hope they do discounts for 4 or 5 weeks hire?
I doubt I will be able to ride a Scooter as I have only been back on a Bike once since my accident in 1984 and my broken leg gave me absolute hell on the back of a 20 minute Harley ride (11 years ago for my 40th Birthday) so I would be better to stick to 4x Wheels on the road I think...

I will be staying at Melinda's Parents house, a small Nipa roof Block House, (I assume typical) with no running water, no Aircon, no CR, it will be an adventure I eagerly look forward to rather than staying at a Resort... I want to go there to experience the real life, not stay in a Resort, as I sure as hell don't live that sort of life now, so looking forward to the lifestyle, the foods, the Family environment and everything that comes with Melinda, her family and Filipino Culture...

Cheers, Brian

So far so good mate, I use a Walking Stick around the home and 1 or 2 Crutches depending on how much walking I need to do, not in a Wheelchair yet; although I should be as my Femur is broken clean through just before the Hip joint, but I feel once I take that step of using a Wheel chair, it is the beginning of the end for me, so I would rather crawl than give up and get a Chair or a Gopher at this stage in life... The day is coming tho...

So there are direct flights via NAIA and Dumaguete Airports?
This is what I still need to get Melinda to look into for me yet, as I plan to fly her and her Daughter to Manila first, then fly back together to Dumaguete, I really do not like the idea of traveling by Boat after her Sister and Brother In-law were left floating at sea for 7 to 8 hours last Christmas after an overloaded Boat sank...
She and I swim like rocks... :( Pass!

Both Cebu Pathetic and Pal have direct flights, its only 1 1/2 flight(except for constant delays using Cebu) last time I went to Duma with Asawa and her Tita and Tito(early June) Cebu canceled our return flight and We had to stay an additional night.....

So the way to fly is by using QANTAS & PAL?

One thing that has me worried;
IF an Airline cancels your Flight, do you have to pay again for another Flight or do they just transfer you to the next available Flight?

I will be traveling on a budget to need to plan ahead and make sure I have enough funds to make it home should the unforeseen arise and I need to pay for another Flight...

The airline will re-book You at no charge as long as the terms of the flight agreement are met.Just be careful using a regional airline to connect to an International flight.
