1000 USD per month is a more than comfortable budget for me.
rent apartment, motorbike, internet. eat out, etc.
If you are a "peso millionaire" however, you likely will have a lifestyle way beyond that just to keep up appearances.

i guess, if one is frugal in Phils, and not aspiring to live like a "rock star"... it's a much more accessible life than here in UK --money wise ... and I still get to live my days upon a hammock :D

    Budget Living in Dumaguete

    Hi Tommy Boy,
There's not much of a difference between Bayawan and Dumaguete. I'm from Bayawan and have a house in Bayawan. My stepmother is staying at my house. She is a manager of a Bayawan Credit Union and makes $300 a month. What she makes is good enough and able to travel. No rent and her job pays her health insurance. You can definitely get by of $650-$750 if you are frugal. Check it out. Good luck.

    Budget Living in Dumaguete

    Hi Dumaguetelocal,
Somehow she has that under control and she doesn't ask me for money. She must be doing great in budgeting. Miscellaneous expense?? Oh yeah! Just paid 7500 pesos for her hospital bills recently. Budget wise, I'm terrible!!! I rest my case:o

I can give some idea ...

the people who earn 100USD per month ... they are the poor people who sleep on floors who cannot afford beds (or bedrooms in their houses) ...

they eat very little because they can afford very little, and ...

today i was talking to my fiancee today about her business there ..

people in phils live on "Utang" meaning credit! Borrow borrow borrow, because an average salary of 200-250 php per day ($175/ month) ... not enough lol

    my jumbled thoughts, tom
