⌛ Buglasan Festival

I'm a little confused. I will be visiting Dumaguete during October and my hostess wishes me to see the Buglasan festival. I'm told that the festival will now be held in January. Another source indicated that this change will not take place for another year.

Does anyone have any current information? Will there be a festival in October 2007? Does anyone have a link to a website with current, reliable information?

hi davfitz...sadly, there will be no festival this october. the Buglasan Festival will be moved to December. In fact i talked with a tourism officer last Sept. 3 and she told me that the festivity this year will be held December 21 to January 1. I got a copy of the festival's calendar of activities. I am even more confused, I heard just today that the Festival is in October but the location transfered cause of the traffic-caos even without the festival around freedom-park... hmm I guess I will find it out on Sunday...

i have also heard that the new site for the Buglasan would near the hall of justice in Piapi, the governor is trying to develop the place to showcase permanently the buglasan what-so-ever there.

 

There is still a festival (so tha') in October. Its the San Miguel Beer Octoberfest. It may not be that festive. The activities are mostly in the Rizal Park. Beers, bands, bar-b-que all happenin in one spot.. beats boredom if u ask me... hehehe... hmm... still its ok..

its already started, since the other day. Last night, there were bands playing.
