Yes,the farther you go north in Australia...the warmer it gets. And the less two-story houses you see. I'm sure there is a reason. If you have a two-story house in a hot climate...guess where the heat goes...

    hello sir garbonzo,

Do you mean that all the heat goes all in the second floor ? Yes I think that is right sir. But if you have high ceiling and well isolated roof that can help to prevent that the heat to penetrate inside the house and ofcourse big windows are good help as well.

    Hello sir Jack,

I wish I am really a builder I think it is a very interesting job. And who doesn't want to have a good house after all. I think we all want.:smile:. But I am sure that you are very good in your own field sir no doubt about it. And with regards to my passport, yes, the papers are in the process I just need to wait for a month. Then for the visa of my husband I think we will do it in the philippines. Since it is more complicated here in italy. Anyway he will be able to get a balikbayan visa when we will arrive. So I think if we will do his papers right after our arrival then the balikbayan visa should cover all the time needed for his paper to be process. And about sir philip and his wife ma'am joan, Yes, I think two birds with one stone we can call it.:smile: I really hope to be back soon if God permit's me to do so.

For now my family and I wishes you and your family a wonderful day. And be safe always. May peace and love remain always in our heart.

Claire, sorry for the late reply. But you don't have to call me sir...I work for a living. Yes, the heat does go up...for sure. A couple things you can do to alleviate it. Insulation does help of course. Much better with insulation, in my experience, is getting a whirly-bird or two on the roof. Very efficient at getting the heat out of the roof space - and avoiding it being transmitted to the uncomfortable second floor occupants. Also, helps with getting the humidity out of the roof space so your beams last longer. During torrential rains they can drip a little into your roof. I've only noticed a few drips during very heavy storms when I was curious - nothing to worry about. Make sure they are well made with quality bearings - buy Australian if you can....they are made to last here. I've heard they are available in Cebu but don't have any details....

I forget to add an old Australian trick for getting rid of the heat in the evenings...simple physics really. If you have a whirly bird, or two, and an access manhole into your 2nd floor ceiling - if it aint in the plan, make sure it is...common sense dictates at least one - crack it open a foot or two so it uplifts the hot air out of the house and sends it out via the whirly birds. The good ones will be turning on heat convection alone - even without wind (mine do) - and even cheap ones will still be venting upwards as the heat escapes between the blades.

    Hello sir Garbonzo,

Good day to you sir . Thank you very much for the informations. Yes, we thought as well to put this kind of ventilator in the ceiling. Actually I wanted to have it built in the wall that is extending up to support the roof inorder to throw out the air derictly out side. And to make a mahole like the passage of the warn air is also a good idea. But I am not sure if this will not create me a problem in the future if little animals might start to live inside. I understand that the chance to have animals living inside is small because if the air is constantly moving then the hole shoud remain clean. But the sence to have a pipe under the wall and might need some removing incase this problem will happen is just too much for me. I should mention that I really have problems on dealing this kind of animals. Anyway I don't intend to make a very big house but I am planning to have a tegula roof and thicker woods for the ceiling. And to avoid derict humidity from the soil I am planning also to elavate tha house atleast 60 or 70 cm from the ground. This as well might help me keeping away those little animals that are a common problem in the philippines. I am just hoping this plans will not cost me much. Thank you again sir. We wish you a wonderful day.

Please excuse me and I hope you don't mind if I keep calling you sir. This is just how I grow up having started to work at a very young age. I just could not separate my self to it. Thanks again.
