    For every kg over 15 kg, CP charges 35 HK$ or 216 pesos on the flight between Hong Kong and Cebu.
    Anyway, i bring only 30 kg for both of us and that is enough because my wife let me carry all the luggage all the time, and that on my age ...

    I believe you can buy 5 kilo blocks in advance at a much cheaper price not sure but I think only 200 per block up to another 15k depending on the weight of the cargo already allotted

    I'm sorry to report to Rhoody that Cebu Pacific's online booking continues to work well. Again there is a 50% off seat sale for bookings made until Friday 24 July with a validity period until end November. Both domestic and international bookings are eligible!

    My three new bookings from the Cebu gateway were made with the first credit card tendered and were successful on the first attempt. At these prices, Anne and I will continue to explore our Philippines home and celebrate our monthly honeymoons together, as we have planned.

    haha... only for those who have not much more to do in their life and terrorizing Cebu Pathetic untill their C-Card get's white-listed...

    ... but my time and nerves are way to valuable for that...

    If my Philippines exploration would be canceld cause of some dollars missing to buy a ticket of a real airline, I would get a haircut and get a real job ... :D

    Ah! Rhoody, ever the cynic. Even if you wish to travel on a "real airline", you have to get to one, right? Your PAL only flies to Manila from here. Not too much scope for travel to Visayan points or those further south.

    That is where 5j has a real advantage - that 4x week flight to the Cebu gateway. Two of my new bookings are to Iloilo and Bacolod. I can get to those points faster via Cebu than I can directly by bus and boat!

    PR also flies to various Visayan and Mindanao points from Cebu via subsidiaries PALExpress and Air Philippines, no Dumaguete flights though...

    anyway, they also have an on-going promo right now...

    22 July 2009
    New PAL promo slashes even PAL Express tickets

    Another low-fare promo from Philippine Airlines (PAL) – "Seat-All-You-Can" – now benefits even passengers of PAL Express, with fares as low as P688.

    The latest round of low-fare tickets on 26 domestic destinations is on sale from July 22 to 27, for travel between August 16 and December 15, 2009.

    PAL's all-jet, full-service domestic flights are priced as low as P888 on one-way economy tickets from Manila to Bacolod, Cebu, Dumaguete, Iloilo, Kalibo, Laoag, Legazpi, Puerto Princesa, Roxas, Tacloban or Tagbilaran.

    One-way economy tickets to Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Davao, Dipolog, General Santos, Ozamiz and Zamboanga are only P1,888.

    Meanwhile, PAL Express is slashing the price of its tickets on 16 domestic routes:

    *

    P688 for tickets between Manila and San Jose, Tuguegarao, Virac or Busuanga, as well as between Cebu and Bacolod, Tacloban, Butuan or Cagayan de Oro;
    *

    P788 for tickets between Cebu and General Santos, Dipolog, Ozamiz or Zamboanga, and from Davao to Zamboanga, vice versa;
    *

    P888 for tickets between Manila and Calbayog or Catarman, and between Cebu and Kalibo.

    "Seat-All-You-Can" tickets are available online (philippineairlines.com), any PAL ticket office or accredited travel agent.

    For bookings and other queries, the PAL Reservations may be reached in Manila through telephone (02) 855-8888, in Cebu (032) 340-0191.

    I have to site with Rhoody on this one. I used to be a very satisfied customer of Cebu Pacific, but the last few years this airline has turned to the worse in almost any possible way. And frankly I really won't bother to use them again, unless it is the only choise, or unless things change dramatically for the better again .

    The credit card issue is world famous, and the problem has been going on for more than a year now without any solution in sight as far as I know. I have heard reports from other people, that it has been fixed, but when I tried to purchase a ticket a few weeks ago, still the same. Needless to say, 2-3 years ago it was completely hasslefree to purchase a ticket with exactly the same credit card.

    In december 2008 in my desparation, I asked 2 other people to try and purchase a ticket for me with their Visa or Master card, and all cards were rejected. I tried 5 different cards all in all. In the meantime the decired departure had sold out and I ended up purchasing a ticket from Philippine Airlines instead.

    Please note, that on domestic departures, the prices of the 2 airlines are almost identical, but PAL provide better service onboard, they have a more experienced crew and the free baggage allowance is 20 kg not 15 kg. Why anyone would bother to fly Cebu Pacific e.g. Dumaguete-Manila to save maybe 200 peso is beyond me.

    On international departures the price difference is bigger but is compensated to a large degree by the better service onboard (full meal supplied for free vs. having to pay even for a drink), higher free baggage allowance and in many cases more convenient departure times.

    One of the ways for an airline to save money is to fly in the middle of the night, which Cebu Pacific do on many international routes. In short: What you get is what you pay for, and in the case of Cebu Pacific that is very little.

    And one more: The old terminal 2 in NAIA, where all PAL flights depart, is still much nicer than the new terminal 3, where Cebu Pacific have been forced by the government to move all their flights, even before the terminal was finished.

    I'll try a new approach.

    I think that Cebu Pacific might be employing a mystic source in deciding which credit cards to accept and which to reject. Je! Je! Es possible, non?

    My problems suddenly ceased when I wrote personally to the airline's president to complain. Since then. I've had nothing but happy online experiences with this carrier.

    I repeat that we are well served in Dumaguete by having direct competition between two national carriers. That I prefer CP is mainly because it is the sole carrier serving the DGT - CEB route. Once arrived in Cebu, the transportation possibilities are far greater than that offered by PAL on its sole route to Manila.

    Maybe the creditcard-compagnies just don't trust Cebu Pacific
