Personally I favor a non-toxic, natural burial. Told Mama, please do not have me embalmed. I just wanted to be shrouded in a hempen cloth and buried 6ft under the fertile soil of our family farm here. And as my aged and withered body is being lowered into my final resting place, I'd like a final song to be played in tribute to my love for my family and friends. That beautiful classic song by the Rolling Stones, "Time Waits for No One".... But in reality, they can do what they want. The dead never complain....
Manzanita, I think I like your method as well, my family has never used cremation so the thought of it is unsettling and might be harder on my wife. I will ask her where she wants me to rest, back yard or cemetary. Jim, thanks for forwarding your historical thread. At least I didn't get the less-than-funny replies you rec'd before. Once again, I apologize if the timing for this thread was not good, given the Valencia tradegy. Like Jack stated, it makes you stop and evaluate the what if.
pato, i hope this will help you on exact your question. in dumaguete there is a memorial park since about two years. inside there is also a possibility to have a cremation. you can as well 'buy' your place for burial either put the urn with ashes in your plot you payed for. my business partner had developped that memorial park. great place for the living coz the dead wont see it. you can call for the cremation the next number 09217926446 i can give as well the name but prefer not to put it here since you never know if it will be misused. i got this number from friends of the one who is in charge for it. hope it works and nobody misuses this info. i read the replies on the old topic jim did refer to. oh what a shame some people makes jokes whe someone tells to have a serious question and even repeates it . glad most of them are gone from this forum.
Unless it was to be alongside deceased family members, I never understood why anybody would want to be buried in a public cemetery. But I've always disliked crowds.
Jellyfish, I had the talk with the wife and we elected for either her or I to be buried in a memorial park, not a cremation. (Note for those who are thinking about having 'the talk'.: the talk was easier than I anticipated for both of us). I will contact your business partner in the next couple of days to take care of business. Thanks
I have a question of curiosty how much does it cost to post an obituary over there? found out today it cost at the minium of 100.00 here. they make money on births weddings and deaths. they scapel on the deaths more. whats up with that!!!!
