Have you got relatives or friends or acquaintances in the city or in the province who can go there and get the papers or check it for you?

All they need is the name and the birthdate of the child and the name of the mother (or father) for them to look at their files. Years back it was 35 PHP for a copy.

    Good luck!

    hi josephen,
thank you for the great info... is there no any online check about searching for a person like other govt agencies such as PRC,POEA? I don't have any relatives nor friends out there. I understand you've been quite long in dumaguete though your location is in holland...

    cheers!

You are welcome - I believe these documents are considered 'public' documents and so anybody can go there and check on it. I don't think they have it online, though. And even then, they don't really reply. You will be very lucky if you will get a reply from them.

I was born and raised in Dumaguete and then in Sibulan. Been living 10 years now here in the Netherlands but I do ask my family to check for me from time to time birth certificates (cuz I don't have time and money to go up and down for that, haha) so I know how it works.

Is this child your own child? Or somebody else's?

Were you around during the registration of birth? Were you stated as the father of the child?

I am afraid the father stated in the certificate of birth is 'unknown'.

So I think the best way to do is whenever you have somebody there check it for you, is to give the name of the child, the date of birth and the gender.
Then you can see what is reflected on the certificate of birth.

Have you got any former classmate from the island who can check it for you?

i was not there during her birth.i was here already in saudi arabia since her birth.i don't know if my name appeared on that birth certificate but her mother wrote me letter when my daughter was one year old that she will get married and her husband will adopt the child. honestly it's all my fault why those things had happened. di ba kumplekado jud.
i don't have friends in dumaguete except the family of my ex-gf(the mother of my daughter).
