    Pickled newt,

If given an option which coup d'etat do you opt for... the coup against Erap or the coup against Gloria Arroyo. Don't tell me it's the same coup.

    Coup in Manila

What happened in Manila is just the natural trend. The government of GMA cannot simply say that; 'Erap is ousted and I'm bringing to you a stable government.' That's absurd! There goes the saying that... 'Once you plant the wind you will reap the whirlwind.' Dili ba? The clamor for the return of Erap is not only right but legal.

Don't ask my opinion of the Coup de etat options, politicains who opt to destabilize the present govt are breed of stupid loosers ,greedy self centered bastards ,who only think of themsleves ,and not the overall interest of the filipino people and the very poor. Blinded by self-interest and of self-augmentation.

Why can't they wait for 2010 election and fight to win. I have watched Trillianes short speech in the BBC whew his english sounds elementary crap, not fluent geeees,he stuttered badly thinking of the next word ,is he a good specimen for a senator who has speech problems, crap english. We think of him as big head intellectual , I expect he should be fluent by all means ,as senator?
Unbelievably , he looked like badly constipated during his speech.Plus Salonga, I'm almost puking ,that ol' man he should have given up now. That bishop Labayen together with them ,who forgot the separation between church and state need a wallop.

It's a shame your reasoning is blinded only to say the cause for the coup is legal , the alleged plunder of millions of $s by Estrada and his cohorts from the filipino people weren't legal.

I think they should all be hang by neck or get them by the bullet. We don't need to spare the bull*** of them, once is enough!

Oooops it was Guingona then ( i need to wear glasses:wink: ) ,thanks India .
Yep we will be celebrating if you were the Esperon india :D and i would be the terror Gen. Palparan,i like his dirty tactics to the leaning left . Sad this government is very softouch ,they can just walk out from the court easy peasy , this seem only to happen in the Philippines and so embarrassing, only exposing even more of this country's weakness like a banana republic .They should be stopped by the escorts or police just few steps outside the court. It was very annoying to know , there was no deterrent control in place when the court case meant to be high profile one ,or does this mean any criminal can just walk out from the courts in his own will without hindrance. If they can not be stopped (though this is drastic) but shoot them all before they iniate another chaos.

    Coup in Manila

Pickled Newt asked; 'Why can't they wait for 2010 election and fight to win?'

The answer for this question is, it is too long for politicians to wait for 2010. For them, one day is like one year waiting. Your question had been spoken before by politicians siding with Erap. Why should they stage a coup when under the law there is a periodic election for president?

I cannot say anything about Trillanes shortness of speech and his command with English language. That is his personal defficiency. You are right! He should not be a senator but whether you like it or not he is being force to be there because of our present situation in the Philippines. Our country is like a banana republic and we have a politicized military. Angelo Reyes who was asked why he staged a coup against Erap answered this way; 'His action was in line with the constitution that whenever in his own judgement the people is oppressed he would act as the protector of the people.' Did you hear Trillanes on TV having the same line of reasoning with Angelo Reyes? If the coup against Erap was legal according to Angelo Reyes, so much so with Trillanes and company.

Let us talk about the plunder. First of all the informations regarding the trial of Erap in the Sandiganbayan did not say anything that Erap plundered government funds. Everything the prosecution's accusation against Erap in court were not proven beyond reasonable doubt. The Sandiganbayan's decision was clearly political. Put it simply... If the court decided in favor of Erap therefore GMA is an illegal president. The sandiganbayan is a special court tasked to try Erap.

Try to analize this; Erap was accused not by the police of a crime but he was accused by the media of graft and corruption. In other words the police did not catch Erap red handed. If it's the media who was accusing him, you can categorize that as 'realpolitik' or political issues. Therefore the issue is not criminal but political. Since the political activists in Manila were roused by the media of the issue of Erap's corruption, the legal remedy for that is an impeachment trial. An impeachment trial is not a criminal but political trial. Which is why the venue was in the senate and not in the court. Since Erap was not convicted in the impeachment trial he should have continued his work as president.

But because of Filipino politician's greed for power, the 2004 supposedly presidential election was too long a wait for them. So they poisoned the people to form a mob and forced Erap out of office. Therefore this same people in government today are the same people who dismantled our democratic institution in 2001. GMA and her cabal planted the wind therefore she is now reaping the whirlwind.

Credit where it's due tho John, the UK will never beat the Phils at these fiascoramas. As long as these so-called actors exist there will always be a pinoy version of "spitting image" ('used to enjoy that show) but done badly.
