⌛ Curiosity only

Just seen the post. I am 39 and my Filipina better half is 24.

 

I'm not a foreigner...am a local but this thread made my day... good humor...still laughing until now (best one is .... I hope you are not 70 :D :D ).

Am happy the pinays work well for most of you guys in a relationship with them. Im married to a fellow filipina and she's the best too.

I used to joke about old men and young girls.... I thought it was an unnatural combination.... the young girl looking for a "father figure" and the old man unable to relate to a grown woman..... I am 71 and my wife is 27..... and I have never been happier in my life.... she is the BEST thing to ever happen to me..... Intelligent, compassionate, gregarious with a great sense of humor ..... maybe it is the Filipino culture.... or maybe I just got lucky...... I am not asking questions but just enjoying my good fortune

 

I'm closer in age to her parents and that gives me the creeps! 54-36.

 

If I add up the ages of my partner and me, I'm probably shaping up to be the youngest. The total age is around 53. I should probably add on the fact that my partner is my left hand.

 

I've heard some Filipino's say exactly what you've said, in that age is not an issue in this culture. Back a couple of generations ago, it was somewhat similar here and Canada. When my grandmother married, back in the early 1900's, she was 15 and my grandfather was 30, and that was a fairly normal thing back then. So cultures and society change, and sometimes it depends on a variety of things as to how they change over time. Right now though, the important thing is that you are happy and your wife is also happy, so that's really all that matters for you two. With your age and wisdom you already know that for people who don't like your age differences, your sharp enough to know that they don't need to be apart of your daily life. Family and a few solid sincere friends are what is important in life, right?

Creepy ??? .....I am older than my wife's GRANDMOTHER .... the realities of my situation are very scary..... but I am enjoying it while I can......

 

Left hand, too bad you are not as flexible as my dog. lol
