We visited Sta Monica Beach Club last year, walk in fee 500p and you can use 400p for food and drinks. Good pools and also a beach there. Sea View Beach Resort near Sibulan have a small pool and a rather good beach. Walk in price 300p including food like a snitzel. More far away is Thalatta Dive resort, we paid only 100p for using the very nice pool when we eat in the restaurant. No good beach there but ok for a walk or swim. You vill find them in Google Maps.
Yes, in thinking about it I'm sure that you're right. Rates in that range are still pretty reasonable for any decent beach resort. Oh, but I really never, ever want to swim in the ocean. The wife? She likes it, and the kid does also, to a certain degree. And we all like playing on the beach and in the surf. Yes, the local pools are always a quick and inexpensive option, but once in a while a beach resort works very well for us. Also, Pura Vida Beach & Dive Resort clarified that there is no entrance fee for children 4-years old and younger. Just the 200php pool use fee (if using the pool).
Yeh, I had taken a look at this place online, but couldn't tell much about, or see the beach it self. But pretty close so probably worth a try some time. That looks like a nice place.
We have visited 4 beach resorts near Dumaguete. Cana,Mike Dive, Pura Vida, and White Chocolate Hills. They are all good in their own way. But, White Chocolate Hills located in Zamboanguita was our overnight stay.
