well. As a Norwegian, English isnt my language. And some of what you call head and tail is getting lost in my way of speaking.At the same time also I try not to offend a lot of people. Not even you. Maybe this makes me not edgy enough , if you understand what I mean. Some can also get lost in my translation from Norwegian to English. some can even get worse than I really mean it. So when you say you dont understand what I really mean, I have a hard time helping you.
But let us say that the SEX industry isn,t my favorite Industry, and a pimp isn't my favorite man.And especially not in the Phils where the religion have such power and powerty is common. And at the same time commercialism is at its worst.

Hi Dave.

We are discussing Devlin's and GRO stuff. Not neccessary together.
My post is in general about GRO stuff.I have been to Devlin's a couple of times. And I have NOT seen Devlin as a GRO kind of bar. So thats why I cannot judge it in that direction.At the same time it seems like some people is afraid the estabishment moving in that direction. If these are right or wrong I do NOT know ANYTHING about. Thats also why I tell my meaning.So if Devlin want me as a customer when I visit DGTE,he dont move there.

At the same time we should be honest enough to admit that too many of the foreigner living in, and visiting DGTE show too little "respect" to the lokal people there.
If we dont make a market for GRO,The GRO problem will be smaller.
I am not a religious guy, but I feel sorry for the girls and boys getting into this business on the lowest level. But at the same time. I'm no saint either.

 

Isn't just foreignors...maybe Dumaguete is a bit more biased to expats indulging themselves because of the tourists and high number of Western residents..but Bacolod pubs, Goldenfields district, would be 90% Filipinos cuddling up to the GRO's.

Tip of the iceberg too...many..BUT of course, not all (some are real saints), Filipino men with some money divert some of it to support female students thru university. In return for favours, of course....last trip home one of my workmates was bragging about how he almost missed the flight back due to oversleeping with his young honey...whose picture he displays prominently at work...I'm sure his wife is thrilled...Don't get me started on what goes on in Thailand....

 

Hi Garbonzo. I know very well that it is not just foreigners who is making this GRO traffic.But foreigners is judged as one group of people. Which makes us easy targeted as "Bad Guys". We are also normally coming from developed Countrys (The West) where moral issues should have a higher standard than the third wourlds.And moral standards not directly linked to religion.
But Enough now about ethics.
This was a tread about Devlins. And I hope he will continue doing good business with ethics in mind.

 

But foreigners are being judged more or less accurately. If not for GROs and easy sex, you will see an incredibly sharp drop off of foreign tourists/residents here in Philippines. Of course, not all foreigners fall into this category, but sense more than enough do, this is in fact an accurate profile of foreigners visiting Phiippines, whether we like it or not.

 

Sorry ,Gomez whr did u get this 'accurate' profile from ,does this include visiting foreign women too?
I bet this is only the odd stereotype image of a sleazy,dirty foreigner who hangs around nr brothels.

How about the philandering pinoys,even some tricycle drivers..hint hint hv mistresses,or 'good' night with cheap gro's can be paid just a cuppa coffee i heard of. visiting foreign men aren't worse than a chronic typical filipino who engage in extramarital fun and think it's ok,and there are many of them ...perhaps even majority of pinoy men do so ,looking like devoted husbands living in fantasy world.
