I like the cadidness of you guys response to these thread, specially the Dude's, simply smart.
And yes, these topic opens my eyes to the reality of life that most of us facing everyday finding what we really want in life.
One time (back in january/ 09) while my boyfreind having a cold beer infront of why not, in the next table, their two couples having a good time and a couple join them. The guy introduce the girl with him to the group and one guy ask the girl, " are you from the mountain ?"..., me listening to the question was so offended but knowing foreigner's used of "straight forward conversation" i swallow my anger.

This lead me in asking foreigner's around whenever it permits why they pick a mountain girls as their wife or girlfreind. Majority ,of the answer ; this girls don't know anything , not well educated, and easy to handle. I don't know if my assumption is right that this men , probably been divorced so many times in their life that they getting so smart to get the woman they want .

The filipino in general, accepted and tolerated this called " situation" in the society it's not because they don't have a choice, the truth most think... as their only way out from the poverty and their suffering. And the "White male " could be assumed as a "GOLD".

I could be mistake with my assumption, because their are and a lot more find love, even it take them a while to realised what hit them.

When i was in college , i always thought ..."i wish i am pretty so that i could prostitute myself and have a lots of money and finish my school" . Looking back now , i thank my angel that i am not pretty , because i live a simlpe life of good experienced and contentment.

It taught me a great deal of respect , to this girls that will sacrifice themeself so that their family can taste and share a little better than the others. And it makes me smile, and not all offended, when most people think i was being pick-up from the mountain.
The Taxi and pedicab driver always commented, "i am lucky i got myself a White man ". I told them, he didn't got me, i got him :D
I think, happiness come in a different packages. And life experienced taught us how and what package we want . Only..., Be smart like the Dude's.

 

Excellent post!.. Its hard to tell why some people choose who they do in partners. 'im sure there are many just out for a good time. Maybe some think girls from other counties are less smart and easy to get. Maybe some just want to be with girls all over the world..I don't know why anyone would want to take advantage of a girl just because theythink they are easy to control. Why does anyone need to control anyone else anyway? I believe in equal relationships. I have taked to many Filipinas online and in my country and they seem to be honest caring people with values. I am very interested in a girl from Tanjay. But my reasons for looking in other country is because the majority of women in my country have lost morals and values, some change partners as much as they change their clothes. there is way to much value put on material things here. I'm happy with a simple life don't need to be rich just need enough to provide for a family and help those i can, and to be able to enjoy the simple things like a walk on the beach, or enjoying a cold beer.
I don't want to sound to old fashioned I have been married 2 times in my country both were nightmares.. they cost me much,but I have great children.
so at least something good came from it. both of my ex-wifes were younger than I and they just ran off with younger men..it happens all to often over here.. but "we live--we learn" and life goes on.. And i realy think the girl I am interested in will be forever, what else do I need....:D Except of course good friends and cold beers...
