I want to thank everyone for participating.....admittedly this is a very small sample

an extremely rough estimate puts the average expat spending 68,700 P per month

    Exports (November 2010) $4.136B
    Imports (October 2010) $4.888B
As you can see more money is flowing out of the Philippines than coming in..... the only thing keeping the economy afloat is Overseas Workers.... and Expats

Average Family Income (2009) P206,000..... or 17,000 P @ month.... which is deceptive in that it is an average.... that is not adjusted for real income.... an excessively wealthy family can throw off an average
The Philippines can not get an accurate census..... much less a true feel for actual income

    GNP (Q2 2010) P2,415.3B
    GDP (Q2 2010) P2,089.4B

There are about 8.7 million to 11 million overseas Filipinos worldwide, equivalent to about 11% of the total population of the Philippines. In 2009, the amount of $17.348 billion was sent to the Philippines by Overseas Filipinos, highest among prior years.

Population (August 2007) 88.57M.... once I crunch the numbers I will have a feel for our contribution to the economy
