I should have mentioned this was in 2008 and my daughter is perfect. thank you. I should add that I don't think prices have gone up that much.

We were quoted 65,000P if a C-section is needed at Silliman.

Usually, it is the Doctor that makes the price for procedures done and not the hospital.

We just had our baby about 7 months ago. Before the delivery I talked to a lot of people and the one thing that many of them warned against was the doctor inducing labor. There are some nightmare deliveries because the doctor has a schedule to keep. That was in the states, not PI.

    How so Little.

ilove, Congratulations on the happy event. I have to ask this though, When my Daughter was born at Silliman by CS, the total was 35.000+, that was 11 years ago. I just paid 12.500 for a normal at Holy Child for my Nephew last week, How on earth have you got away with only 1.448 at silliman. I am more than curious and I guess PatO will be too. If there is a magical formulae to reduce the costs, Please let us in on it. Only this week another nephew had 1 overnight stay for a fever, 3.200+. What is the secret, Was it Insurance + Top up. I sit here more that curious. I hope all goes well fo the Future.

Jack,I am assuming Ilove is showing US$, based on Kdf's quote. I will save my wine money to cover whatever this priceless event will take. I do hope she doesn't need CS, her sister didn't need it recently so we will see.

Ah I See! ( Jack Goofs again )

Ilove, maybe it would be better to Quote actuals here in Pesos, it will save all my curios thoughts and others as well I feel. We are a multi national membership and can only relate in our own currencies, so peso is what we spend here. A lot of people here still use the $ sign although it should be at the back. The figure quoted seems more factual when computed but to this simle mind did not seem right:o Glad I asked the question, as at some time, the issue would have escalated I am sure. sorry if I tended to mistrust the post. As I said, congratulations.

@ Pat! I will write you tonight.

To all reading this, if you are living in the Philippines, sign up for Phil Health. Have your Filipina spouse sign up 1st and add you and any children. It's extremely cheap and they will pay "up to" 1/2 of an admitted hospital stay depending on which hospital, including c-sections. For those of you in the Dumaguete area, their pay out rate is highest at Silliman and goes down from there. Phil Health has an office (or two?) in Dumaguete.
