I have Philhealth....everybody in my family has Philhealth....I do not know why everybody does not have Philhealth.....

First thing you learn in the military..... because it has always been done that way does not mean it is the best way for it to be done.....

It would behoove any foreigner to require all relatives to have Philhealth.....in that they will be paying the medical bills anyway....at least with Philhealth they get some money back

only the hand? you are a lucky one. I am working here since 9 years and it certainly has nothing to do how much you pay.
Very rarely you come across someone who loves the job for several reasons if you get 1 out of hundred you are one of the happiest camper around.

I have some very simple ongoing online tasks for freelancer, they sign up, do the job, get paid.

Since 2.5 years NONE of the Filipino freelancer finished the job within the deadline, but I get emails with the typical excuses why things are not done and who's to blame for.

With freelancers from other countries, signing up for the exact same job about 80% is perfectly done in time.

It is simply the local attitude of "having a job", not "doing a job".

I could go on with "IT graduates" in Duma. Paid well above minimum in the trainings weeks where I have to teach them and their productivity is close to "0". The final product was pretty bad (and that is the polite version).

Same tasks outsourced to other country: faster, cheaper, way better, no teaching required, no dealing with lame excuses why things were not done, no need to invest in work stations etc.

My wife.....for the first time .....agrees with you..... she says it is all about setting priorities and responsibility..... Filipinos here seem to lack the urgency they have in America (example)....possibly because they "think" you wont fire them and the "excuse" has worked before

A well known business man hired a girl for a project ..... she failed to complete the project.....she stole his money....YET he hired her again for a new project
....???? In America she not only would not be hired.....she might even be prosecuted ?????

Possibly ??? they do what you ( or others )let them do

There is a reason why in this wonderful country behind basically each successful business is either a Chinese-Filipino or a Foreigner "swinging the whip"

    cheers

This is very hurting comments to Filipinos. I myself is a half Filipino and into online business outbound/inbound but my team never do unfinished projects. Let me say this... not all Filipinos are lazy or fun of lame excuses with their assigned jobs. Just like in your country where you guys referring to... not all people there are not lazy.

I think you are being overly sensitive .....Of course not all Americans or Filipinos are XXXXXXX..... there are always exceptions.... my wife's cousin is outside my window right now gardening.....nobody told him to.... he just saw something that needed being done and took the initiative to do it.....yet her sisters and sister-in-law will walk by garbage on the ground and NEVER pick it up unless told to.... they have no initiative
The people on here were talking about their experiences.....NOT maligning the entire Philippine people..... If Filipinos in the states displayed the work ethic they have seen here.... they would not last 5 minutes.....yet most OFW-ers are very successful in America..... so the contentiousness and laziness referred to here is not "natural".....it is "learned" behavior.....the people who work for you possibly do not display these traits because they know you wont tolerate them
No one here wants to insult the Philippine people....but facts are facts.... truth is truth

Be fair..... there are a lot of factors that contribute to business success.... not the least of which is money

There are stories like the rise of the Cang family that point out how they over came poverty..... but there are also similar stories about Filipinos who did the same ..... the poor work ethic exhibited by the people you referred to is NOT genetic.....there are exceptions.....it is more than likely "learned" behavior.....people will do what they are allowed to do..... what they can get away with..... and that is MOST people not just Filipinos

I am fair and I am realistic... look around in our region. ALL real successful businesses owned by Chinese-Filipino and foreigners.

You can bend it however you want, the facts are just different.

Sorry, that "but they are everywhere", "there are exceptions", always repeated phrases are total BS.
If they would be everywhere this wonderful country (where neighboring countries looked up to some 20 years ago) would not be left behind and falling back further and further compared to the neighboring countries in South East Asia.

And No, they don't do what they can get away with in other countries like they do it here ... most are simply aware of the responsibilities they have when assigned to a job.

I actually do believe that I am allowed and more qualified than most here to judge working attitudes.

I did basically the exact same job for 13 years in about 50 different countries (including countries in Europe, Africa, Asia and a fraction America) each day. Each day a different city. Each day with total different unknown people I have never worked with, never seen before and most likely never see them again after the job. Now since 9 years here and not retired, working with and managed hundreds of employees.

Don't get me wrong, we do not talk here about millions of lovely people !!! I am sure in that point most of us here are on the same page of the book.

We talk about business, workers, attitudes, contracts etc ...
