    Filipina wife?

Like pedro I went through a baptism of fire when I went to the Philippines, everything went wrong in some way or another. But never a problem with my beloved the only soul I could count on there and as a fact the only person I can trust even now. I have made more than my fair share of mistakes in life. But the one thing I did right was to marry my Filipina. She is truly a blessing from God for me.
We have only been together for six years but I feel as I have known her all of my life. There are a few issues sometimes like the green eyed monster issue but that is very common to most Filipina’s something you have to live with no way around it. But for me I could never think on any woman but a Filipina for a wife. Mine is the best I sure I would not know what to do if I lost her..

Teacher....with all due respect to you and your wife, I of course think my Rudy Mae is the best in the world. She has shown it so many times and in so many ways. Thankfully, she is also being my "front" person and getting things done for us before I get there.
I really don't think that I will have any major problems but I do expect a bunch of minor ones.
I do not completely understand the mentality of the ladies in the Philippines, and with no disrespect to American ladies, but the attitude and resourcefulness of the Philippine female just seems to me to be better in so many ways.
I also would not know what to do without my Rudy Mae. We connect on so many levels.
I am thankful every day that we met.

I would like to wish all of the wonderful people here a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thank you for all of your help and information.

12 days......9 hours.....16 minutes until I step off the plane at Lumbia Airport.
    Then, the real adventure begins.

Very obviously, I will give updates as much as possible to help all of those that come after me. Just as you all have done for me.

86 hours until I leave. 119 hours until I get there.
I am sitting here in Houston doing nothing.
I'm packed and ready to go and the time seems to be going very slow, like it will never happen.
It has been very cold and rainy for the past two weeks here and I just want to be warm.
I just want it all to be over with. I just want to be there....good or bad.
And of course, with all of this time on my hands, I begin to question my own sanity.
Please believe me when I say "thank you all"
    Ron

I know the longing to be in the...

Philippines. I always miss it when I am not there I hate to be away from the Philippines. I always feel very out of place when I leave even though there are things that just p*ss me off about the place. There is place in my heart that being in the Philippines can only fill.

There are a couple of things I want you to keep in mind. No matter what anyone can tell you. There is no way they could prepare you to live in the Philippines. The information is helpful but it will always be incomplete you have to experience life there. You have to live there for years before you can start to understand life in the Philippines.

I know you have heard this before but when you marry a Filipina you marry the Family. This is a very simple statement but you really have no idea how true it is. The Philippines is a very family oriented place. it doesn't not end when she gets married. You share your life with her family every part of your daily life, they will be involved there is no way out of this as a foreigner you have to accept the Filipino way, They will not accept our way. So prepare yourself for a culture shock.

I know as an American we can adapt to any kind of living condition. But our privacy is prized this is something you will have to give up to some extent. You love the woman I have no doubt of that. But you will have to learn to love the Family as if they are your own blood. Filipinos are nothing like us they are not independent they are very dependent on there family for support in all forms.

When I came I also heard these words but I didn't think to much about it. I can't say how important it is. You are marrying into a Family you are not just marrying a woman. You can't separate them it is a package deal.

Bikerdave has a saying on his posts something about marrying an orphan it is funny but true.. If you marry into a poor family you will be responsible to bring the family status up. You have to improve the life of the family and the your wife. It's like marrying a woman with 12 kids is the only way I can explain it easily. You have to take care of all there needs. I know there are many guys that doubt do this. but it always causes stress in the family. the part that sucks is you are a outsider even though you are taking care of them.
just my thought on the subject..

I'm at the airport in Houston. Bags checked, flight confirmed, through security. Drinking a Starbucks. 2 hours and 9 minutes to take off. 35 hours and 19 minutes until I set foot on the ground at Lumbia Airport.

    Let the adventure begin.........

Thats right, get your t-shirt and sunglasses moved to the top of your bag and get as much rest as you can on the flight. Have a safe trip.

Reminds me of my first trip to Manila, to meet my internet girlfriend.

I hope your lady turns out to be as good as mine.

We are married now, and have a son, 18 months old.

Teacher is right about the family affair.

Just remember, loan, and give have the same meaning in Tagalog.

    Also...

Once you loan/give to one family member, the rest will line up for their "emergency" hand out. (everyone has a sad story, and needs a loan in the Philippines)
