CP and PAL have 2 flights daily. you wanna have a close look at your luggage. CP has 15 kg and charges 100 php per exeeding kg

PAL has 20 kg and 44php (not 100% sure w/that number but way lower than CP).

This is what you can read on the website of Philippine airlines:

In compliance with Republic Act No. 9337, an act amending the National Internal Revenue Code, a 12% VAT is added to the total amount on all transactions involving purely domestic services only.

Excess Baggage rate is PHP100.00 per kilo plus VAT for the following flights:
    Philippine Airlines
    PAL Express
Philippine Airlines/Air Philippines code share flights
Excess baggage rates may change without prior notice.

There are 2 major airlines in the Philippines, and both have a twice daily connection between Manila and Dumaguete. Both also sell tickets on their homepage, if you have a valid credit card. However the online booking system of Cebu Pacific very regularly declines credit cards issued anywhere else than in the Philippines. So appently this airlines only want to have local customers, which is fine by me, as I prefer Philippine Airlines anyway. Still, the web adresses are:

Cebu Pacific Air - It's time everyone flies

    Philippine Airlines | Home

Regarding the Bukidnon province in Mindanao, the nearest airport and port is Cagayan de Oro (CDO). There is no direct flight from Dumaguete to Cagayan de Oro, but there are connections via Cebu or Manila.

There is also a once a week direct connection with boat, run by Cebu Ferries:

    Cebu Ferries Corporation

and there are daily connections with boat via Cebu or Tagbilaran on Bohol.

There are also several daily boats from Dumaguete to Dapital/Dipolog in western Mindanao including a daily connection with a fast ferry (1½ hour), and from Dapitan/Dipolog it takes about 6 hours to get to Cagayan de Oro on a bus.

However please note that this trip will take you through Lanao del Norte (main city Illigan), a region which is affected by the armed conflict between the philippine army and muslim rebels. So the land trip from Dapitan/Dipolog to Cagayan de Oro is not really recommended for tourists.

I have made this trip a number of times with my car, and I am still alive, but if you are not planning on bringing a car from Dumaguete to Mindanao, I would suggest to just avoid it and go directly to CDO with either plane or boat.

    ^^

fastest way to get to Bukidnon from Dumaguete is via Cebu. take the Ceres (yellow) bus to Cebu, either direct trip or cutting trip. Both PALExpress and Cebu Pacific flies to Cagayan de Oro from Cebu. CDO is the nearest airport to Bukidnon, although you can also fly via Davao....once you reach CDO airport, tell the taxi driver to take you to the Agora Bus Terminalk, it should be near the market...there would be a lot of Rural Transit Buses that would depart almost hourly for Davao. Take the trip that goes to Davao via BUDA (Bukidnon-Davao Route).
