New hydroelectric plant in Valencia??

About a year ago the then mayor of Valencia told me the city had signed a contract for the construction of a new hydroelectric dam on one of the two rivers which flow through the town. I'm living a rather shelter life up here on the hill and haven't heard any more about it. Does anyone here know what is happening with that, if anything?

 

The city may have signed a contract, but it is not a likely project as neither river flows enough water to make investing in a hydroelectric project economically feasible.
