    Negros!

 Ron! do you ever get to Dgte? Mindanao is one place Azon will not go to so I Guess she would be upset if I shot over, especially for a beer meet. If ever you get to Dgte just Buzz and we can get a beer if times are right, having said that I do get to Cebu some. Nice thought though that, there are others that follow a Time proven daily Diet

Jim, I'm 50% noise damage deaf on the left side from gunfire and explosions. Havn't got Tinnitus yet, but I was told that it might come. An army doctor told me that there is no actual cure; it might come and go on its own, or it might come and stay and you have to learn to live with it. He did tell me that you can limit its effects by keeping blood pressure down. Also cutting down drastically on salt, caffeine and nicotine might help to lessen the effects. I'm certainly no expert, but any of those things are worth a try if it helps.
Hope it works, or at least gives you some relief.

But tinnitus has many different forms. the above is known to help with noise related tinnitus. have no knowledge about chronicle tinnitus cause of infection

Roger its ironic, ruptured my hear drum scuba diving in the 70's with the army,
now I would have had the golden opportunity to dive in some Philippines finest dive sites. now its imposable.

Rhoody, I have also heard that zinc can help reduce that hissing noise.

Had tinnitus a long time now , but its getting worse, seeing a doctor at the moment, he discovered a ear infection, one of many over the years.

Jim, a ruptured eardrum does not hold you back from Scuba diving. There are masks out since a few years sealing your ears and you equalize with a tube from the actual mask to the ear-cover. [IMG]

An instructor colleague has it since 5 years and did probably 4000 dives that way. Additional if a eardrum was ruptured that long ago, it should be closed now.

Check with a dive-medic, not only your normal doc. If he can give you an ok, I bring you under water for a check

    cheers
    Rhoody

PS: I did not say to bring you back... that's up to eve's decision :D
