I had to chuckle about the news reports of wind damage in Duma this past year when they 60 mph winds. We call that a gentle breeze in Oklahoma. LOL

Reedee, it was 112F this summer here in OKC and a couple days from now it will be down to a predicted 3For 4F degrees.

"I've never been to heaven, but I've been to Oklahoma"

We will be Duma Late Jan and Feb.

We are definitely looking forward to the warm temps, fresh fruit, mild breezes and smiling faces.

    Oklahoma winds/weather

    Hey Muddyfeet,
Yup!! I always laugh when people talk about the "high" winds they are having (usually 40-60mph), when those high winds are just "gusts" in Oklahoma. It was nothing for us to have straight line winds of 80-90 mph in the stormy season. I lived in Oklahoma all my life, so I know the heat and humidity that it gets, when I came here I found it very tolerable and I believe Oklahoma is much more humid!! I don't miss that cold winter they are having (I hated the bitter cold winds!!)
Will you be moving to Dumaguete?

    Hi Marie,

We had 14 inches of snow Christmas eve, all the roads, including the interstates were closed and there is still some snow left after 3 weeks. It has been the coldest winter I can remember and I too have was born and raised here.

We will be in Duma later next week and be ther til end of Feb looking for property and visiting friends and family. Yes, we will be moving to Duma but uncertain as to exactly when. If left to my asawa we would just stay there this time as she does not like the states after 2.5 years here or maybe it is just Oklahoma.

If you are in Duma I could bring a 5lb bag of Shawnee Mills corn meal. which do you prefer white or yellow?

Thanks, Im here now in Dum. Ate at Lab-As, not a good experience. Slow to no service and the quality--well let's just say it leaves much to be desired. KFC was a more enjoyable experience.

????? so you see once more how tastes can be different  KFC ??????
It's also because the chef cook is not always the same at all places at each day or time of the week.
So it COULD as well be the reason that the experience is different for only that fact.
So you have to visit it more times for a good comparison.
But of course ..... a real classy restaurant can not afford to have different quality dependent from the day of the week, the hour of the day or the availability of ONE person.

I have got to tell you, I have been to places the world round and to serve the crab they did, with the chilie sauce. It was the smallest crab(s) I have ever seen. No decernabble meat at all. I did notice my Philippine friends loved the place. Not used to eating at that level I guess. I have been so busy with the wife's needs I have not had time to get ahold of Oliver. Went to the Kookoos nest by the wife's parents place. I get the feeing they don't like the natives here. Just the way we were treated by the owners. No interaction just a very very subdued hello. I hope I am wrong. The staff was pleasant and helpful. Being in the profesion I'm in, I could be being too critical. Seeing that old woman 60+ish coming out in a bikini was scary. Well -- time to go. This slow connection is driving me crazy.

    Moving to Dumaguete?

You had said you would eventually be moving to Dumaguete......based on your posts, it seems you might want to reconsider, it doesn't seem you are too thrilled with things......?
