Are you referring to Sta. Catalina STREET, Dumaguete, or Sta. Catalina Negros, 100 km south of Dumaguete?

I'm not really sure which place it is. The name of the barangay is San Francisco.

Jasper, my wife is from Santa Catalina. There is not much there, trust me. There is a lower end beach resort called Casa Rosario about 5k before the town. I actually stay at a pension house in Bayawan, about 5k past Santa. Best beach resorts are in Dauin and a wide choice depending on your budget. There is a high end resort called Antulang about an hour and 15 before Santa. My suggestion is either check out a place like Mike's Beach Resort in Dauin or accept a low end resort in Santa. I would have also suggested El Dorado Beach Resort in Dauin but it got bad recent reviews on the forum. Btw, no good restaurants at all there, only Chicken Ati-atihen in Bayawan is acceptable. So if you don't stay at a Dauin resort, you will be eating real local mom and pop food. Here, you really do get what you pay for. It is a very nice drive on a pretty good road from Dauin to Santa. Good luck, if you have further questions feel free to ask.
