    OnMyWay - it is just a fact of life here. You can "donate" to their lunch fund or be hassled. For the sake of speed and simplicity, I choose to buy them lunch when needed.
    And, as of about 9 months ago, I am 100% legal in every way, but I still get checked at all of the checkpoints except for the one where I live. I bought them "lunch" twice and now they may pull over everyone else, but they just smile and wave at us.

    Its not so bad you have to pay a fine but who wants to spend half or all day geting your licence back.I learned one thing when your in the philippine and you are american and you ride motorcycle you are an easy target.If you dont get stoped your not traveling .

    And Ron, the locals have an amazing vision of being able to spot a foreigner very far away. They see us coming.....

    Helmets always

    This is just to make sure, I always insist on wearing a helmet. And also my GF should-- Here we are on our way to visit granny, some distance north of Dumaguete--.:smile:
