I agree also with that, plumber, builder, carpenter can be happened have a higher income than the one who have a higher degree here. But we are talking the self employed one, if they are really good, they are really earning high. But If they are just only been employed from a certain company they are still earning low compared to the one who have a higher degree .But this kind of people although they are employed from a company, they work extra to the neighborhood (carpentireng etc...)and that way they can still earn more extra money (illegal work means not registered)

archon, since your the MANOFSTEEL, you might be interested to join, i guess the this is the quickest to be able to go US soil.

Citizenship is not a requirement to join the U.S. military, but serving in the armed forces is a way to qualify for citizenship, "Maj. Chris Belcher"

Pickled_Newt, see pg4 (too much to copy quote)

Yes, I agree completely with your take on marriage. I have too many gfs putting it down lately without realizing all the facts and truth of it. Plus there was NOTHING wrong with the concept of marriage......it is a beautiful thing......but with who they chose as their mate!

There are some things in this world to risk. If we do not risk then we have nothing to gain!

Feel free to "rant" and rave whenever! LOL... I enjoy reading what you have to say.

    the faster the better

DUm, the faster the armed forces sends him to iraq or afghanistan the better, :D the quicker he will receive his citizenship.
he would no longer have to worry about food, accommodation, etc, all he has to do is stay alive.

    archon,

are you not interested in working first in the middle-east to build better work experience with regards to your course? im pretty sure they are in-need lots of engineers, especially in Dubai where constructions is a never ending story.

then once you can have your residency visa, slowly apply for work for canada, europe then to US.

    Archon,
India is right when he said that Dubai needs lots of engineers, what with all the construction going on there. I have at least 4 cousins who are there right now, working in different companies. Mind you, 3 of them were just tambays for many years after graduating from college - from Silliman no less. Then, about 3 years ago, 1 cousin went to Dubai as a tourist due to an invitation from a friend. Once there, he tried to apply for a job and was able to get one in a hotel (even if he didn't have any work experience at all). From what i heard, he did not have any difficulty changing his tourist status to working permit. After working there for a few months, he invited 3 more cousins and they got hired in the same process. Now, there are 4 or 5 of them working there.
They might not be earning as much in Dubai as they would be if they were working in the US but it's a start. But definitely, you would be earning more in Dubai than if you were working in Dumaguete.
If you have any friends or relatives working in Dubai, why don't you try asking them if the situation i just related is still true or not.
