    Bag of Macrodorcus Peudaxis Beetles.

Macrodorcus pseudaxis are less common than other edible insects because they’re only available during the monsoon season. Macrodorcus are omnivores and scavengers feeding on organic materials, as well as decaying plant material, fungi, and some seedling plants. Because our insects are boiled and dehydrated, rather than the traditional frying method, they still contain a good source of protein and are low in fat. They have been tossed in Thai herbs (lemon grass, lime leaf, galingale and garlic). A little salt and soy sauce has been added also. They are then dehydrated and bagged.

Packed in special foil pouches with oxygen absorbers and moisture absorbers. Shelf life 1 year - weight 20g (approx)

    Edible Thai Silkworm larvaes

The silkworm is the larva or caterpillar of Bombyx mori (Latin: "silkworm of the mulberry tree"), the domesticated silkmoth. It is entirely dependent on humans for its reproduction and no longer occurs naturally in the wild. Also, as well as being a tasty snack, silkworms are a source of traditional Chinese medicine. Silkworm pupae can be eaten whole straight out of the bag. Silkworms are high in protein, low in fat and a great source of essential fatty acids. Ingredients: Silkworms, natural favouring. No preservatives or colours added.

Edible Water Scorpions (a.k.a. Giant Water Bugs)

Nepidae is a family of insects commonly called water scorpions (Thai Name 'Meangda') for their superficial resemblance to a scorpion. Water Scorpions are carnivores, eating pond animals. They capture their prey with their front legs and suck the body fluids. They also have the ability to inflict a painful bite which gave them their nickname 'toe biters'. They use the siphon in their tail in a "snorkel fashion" thrusting it up through the surface film on the water to the air above so they are able to breath underwater. Water Scorpions are used mainly for their special aroma in Thai cooking but also barbequed and served as snacks. Remove the outer wings and eat the meat inside.

Ingredients: Water Scorpions, Natural Flavouring, Salt.

I was many times in Thailand and tried some of that delights, deep fried silkworms are really yummy while Cicadas would not win a Michelin Star, imho.

well, there are still some other exotic options like huge field-rats (in the Chiang Mai area). They go down well with some Meat Water:
