    Environment is everyone's concern

You are right, Daffs, we all can do something individually. Environment is everyone’s concern not only we should wait on what our government is doing something about it and then blame it if things go wrong….. In fairness with the ones who are mandated to protect, conserve and preserve our natural resources and the environment – the DENR… I know for sure in their own efforts they are devoting special attention to the biggest and most threatening environmental issue facing mankind – CLIMATE CHANGE……

This is the right thread for this info campaign I have in mind… so care to read, Daffs, I will share some info I know….

Our government has these mitigating measures currently being undertaken -
… Reducing greenhouse gas emissions by actively pursuing the shift from the use of fossil fuels, like oil and coal, to renewable sources like wind, water, natural gas, and geothermal, as well as by implementing a bio-fuels program where extracts from agricultural sources are mixed with motor fuel to produce cleaner vehicular emissions
… Requiring hospitals to secure Environmental Compliance Certificates in order for them properly manage their wastes management and disposal
… Relentless enforcement of emission standards for vehicles and industries.
…Working to finally close the 1,095 open dumpsites still in operation nationwide.
… Targeting a reduction in our reliance on fossil fuels to 49.2% by 2014.
… Promoting rojects for carbon trading.
….Adaptation measures – geo-hazard mapping which intended to identify and determine the areas most vulnerable to landslides
… By sequestering greenhouse gases, DENR reforested 85,235 hectares in 2005 alone and planted several hundred thousand seedlings along major highways.
. . . and of course, co-organizing a major event like this YES Camp in increasing concerns of the youth for environmental action against threats to mother earth is indeed a noble act…..

    Need I say more,
