⌛ Infected site

Please, do not get on this site. dumaguete directory dot com-did that on purpose so it does not create a link. I have been on that site the other day and ended up cleaning it for almost half a day yesterday. Luckily, a geek teenager spent the night with my son playing video games. He fixed it for me.
I became suspicious when I visited the restaurant section and there was a porn site on top of the header. My reaction to escape from infection was not quick enough. We do have a subscription for Norton for 3 cp but my son deleted norton anti-virus and instead install AVG anti virus on this computer. He said that norton takes so much space and slow down the computer. How could a computer slow down running at a cable speed? AVG can be downloaded for free. It work yesterday but not as good as the norton, where it is installed in other computer.
So, if you are involved on that site, mr. hsemitara, please tell their administrator to clean their site.

yeah thanks. For the record Norton does slow thing down on the computer not just the internet everything. Unless you have a really fast processor you will notice it. I use AVG free also but it is not the best AV out there. It is light and does not seem to impact the system performance unless you get the paid full version. Then it is the same as Norton on system performance IMHO.

Solve your virus problem and download AVAST AntiVirus program for FREE! It is as good as Norton and does NOT slow down your PC or Laptop. Used it for 2 years and AVAST catches everybug and virus. Avast is always updated to the minute! GOOD LUCK!

 

Thanks Malmoman. AVG was running but did not prevent it from infecting it. Mediocre program but was able to clean it by running dos on safe mode then run the program. I will check that out.

 

Yes I agree, I use Avast and it works good. except sometimes it cuts me off and I have to un install it and re install. It goes longer if I dont register for some reason. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. Also it doesn't warn me when it's cut off, I just watch the icon at the bottom of my monitor closely.

I have to agree with other BM. I've had AVG for several year before until I switched to Avast about three years ago. Avast is by far superior to AVG...I've never had problems with speed or viruses. Only complain I have is that I have a Sony Vaio & I have to disable it in order to access "My Safe" folder
