⌛ Lawyer shot dead.

I come from a college town (over 120 colleges and universities) albeit a little larger than Dumaguete and we have about 2500 murders a year. One hundred and fifty to two hundred go Cold every year.
I guess I am comparing apples and oranges.

 

Better to be realistic, our police, provincial and city have never caught a cold and our fire brigade couldn't even fight a fire 10m away from their own station, over the last 20 years, live with it...you're on your own.

 

Doesn't the PNP ever send in investigators?
Or are they as clueless as the local Good 'Ol Boys?

What's the difference between murders and homicides, dead is dead is'nt it ?
England may have it's riot's, but I can't remember when we last had a local Lawyer shot.

New York City. The statistics are from 2009 the latest I could find.

I was trying to make a point by being sarcastic. Because of the social make up, economy, and culture of two different places it is difficult to make direct comparisons.

I remember a few years back a New York Cop said "If we took as long as Kojak to solve a murder we would have bodies piling up in the streets!"

 

I live right here in peaceful Dumaguete. My kid brother now retired was a NYPD detective.
