 I work for myself. I restore Brass, I am in Cadiz spain at this time, Church Bells, I have a small workshop in Duma for the smaller stuff but there is not a lot of demand. I think this will be maybe my last Trip as the costs are nearly outweighing the profit, I will have to search some work seriously in Duma as I still need to work, the pension is 2 years away yet. Heres Hopeing.

Interesting. I have a friend here that restores organs, mostly church organs.

 Impressive Art Larry! Hadn't realised there were many organs in the PI or is it just a Pass time, Would Like to meet him though. He would be in Great Demand in the UK, Not many Wurlitzer Tuners left now, Spain use Mainly Electric only 3 Wind in Cadiz and not that Big. Thank You for the Reply.

He stays quite busy. There actually is a lot of antique pipe organs here, mostly I think in old churches. He lives in Makati, and has been to Dumaguete numerous times on business. He restored one organ in Silliman, and another in the old Bacong church. He had his pic in the local paper about 2 years ago with the gov. and some Silliman honchos.

:smile:It is one of those Dying arts Larry! I will call it an Art as I have watched the work being done and it really is a work of Art. The only Restorer I have met personally died 8 years ago but I have worked since due to him, as you can imagine, to a degree my trade and his go somewhat hand in hand, some of the older Organ Heads (the Bit with the Keys :D ) have brass work that is badly neglected, This type of work is more in my line now at my age, 1/2 ton tenor bells are getting to big to handle :D I guess you understand why I would like to meet him if possible. Of course older Churches do have Brass hidden away under dirt and Time that could be brought back to life. In fact without crossing any Boundaries here, I would like to hear from anyone that has seen or knows of Neglected Brass Work, internal or external. Anywhere that is.
Thank You Larry for this addition to the thread, It has given me some food for thought. May I ask you to convey my Admiration to your friend but I guess he is not lacking in Tributes by the sound of it.

    Regards Jack P.
