I have never tasted dog meat myself, and never will. .It is not served in decent Filipino homes everyday or at parties. This what men eat when they have drinking binges .It is considered macho food. It is never done openly.

One thing though, dogs do not have the same place in the family as in the US , for example. Not many homes would even allow their dogs in their houses. Mostly they are kept to alert the owners when there is an intruder.

These dogs are called "ascal" meaning asong kalye, or street dogs.

There are a few families where they care for their dogs as in the west, pampered like family members. but mostly these are the well to do ones.

Of course in the mountain provinces like Baguio, among the indigenous people these are bred for food It is part of their culture for centuries.

BALOT, the bonier the better. I like hot too, while the juices are flowing. If you drink the local water you will lose weight even faster. No health club can do what you can do for yourself here.
