If you should happen to hook up with a major realtor, say representing Islands Properties, they will gladly drive you around to the various properties in their listings, should you be inclined to go that way, just so you know.

Thank you, Pedro! We actually have been in contact with Island Properties and have a short list of three or four at this point that Rick will see next month.

Question: How long is the flight from Manila to Dumaguete - about an hour? We were also contemplating Cebu City; what is the best way to get between the two?

THANKS to all for your help!

Ah, what a nice segue to one of my favourite topics: the CEB - DGT - CEB flight.

If your itinerary supports it, the best & quickest (but not the cheapest) way of getting there is Cebu Pacific (5j) flight 868 operating Mon, Wed & Fri Depart DUMAGUETE (DGT) 0720H Arrive CEBU (CEB) 0800H. This a schedule revision to the new flight.

My wife and I enjoyed this earlier this week. Imagine sucking coffee at McD's @ 0810 and then finding yourself in Cebu two hours later! Cebu Pacific currently has a seat sale on this flight whose sale eligibility period expires in another hour. Fare? Philippine pesos 427, all-in!

Your alternates are boat or fast ferry and bus / boat / bus. The latter combination takes 5 1/2 hours @ 270 pesos per person one way.

Hmmm. In the 12+ trips we have made to Cebu in the last year using bus/boat combo, we have been there in less than 4 hours except for once, which was 5 hours on a monday morning.

    Sue,

If your itinerary puts you in Manila, by all means skip Cebu altogether and fly direct from Manila to Dumaguete. Flight time under one hour.
