Are you sure about the cost? 1640Php and 1500 PhP sounds pretty high. I remember it being around 550Php only two years ago. That's a big jump.

I also recall when my wife was carrying a Philippine passport that what she paid ( can't remember what it was called) was two - three times more than what I paid to exit.

Yes, 1640 or 1500 is quite a big jump compared to last years when my husband and I paid only 550 each total of 1100 for both. I'm not really convinced until I make phone calls to the Philippine Authorities.

Just arrived 3 weeks ago from the Philippines and that's the cost we paid for our terminal fee. We paid the 550 PhP and that was 6 years ago. Prices are getting higher abruptly and the dollar/pounds are getting lower.:( :( :(

We will just stay in Manila and I will be 2 hrs before she arrives to Manila with Cebu from south Philippines.
So when I leave the country back to Hong Kong, where should I pay that Travel tax ? I mean I go to check in to Cebu Pacific, so maybe I should ask from them? About taxis, maybe I take standard taxi from up level... At least I have time to go to domestic. ok, I can tell her to come to cebu pacific office building and I can wait her there  Thanks tor the advice of big wet kiss hehe..

Cebu Pacific arrivals hall? That is inside of domestic airport? I have time to go to wait her...I can also wait her in separate Pacific office if that is more convenient...

Hi guys, especially to stranger. I found out from my cousins who just arrived from their vacation in Dumaguete paid only 750Php at NAIA (not 1640 as originally posted by chrissar)). I was wondering why they (chrissar and family) paid 1640, if it's only 750 per head.

    Hithere,
dont get confused about the different terminologies people use. And forget about cebu international airport (that's in cebu city and has nothing to do with you, as you are arriving in manila airport--both of you).
All i told you is very accurate, except that i incorrectly assumed you are arriving AFTER your friend. So you will just have to wait. Yeah, since you have time, go upstairs. You will probably have to pay 100pesos even though its short distance to domestic, because that's the going rate. Dont fight that.
You pay departure tax INSIDE the airport, after you get your boarding pass. You show your boarding pass to a counter NEAR the check in counter.
    good luck!

The Deaprture Tax is 550 plus (as of Feb 1 2007) 200 security fee for a total of 750.

Filipinos pay a Travel Tax. Standard is 1620. Goes up for travel in first class and down for balakbayans in country less than a year and many other circumstances.
