Look, if here in the UK Lennoix Lewis went for even a Member of Parliament in his own area, He would be simply LAUGHED AT!! in the Phils anyone who is in the public eye can run...and get away with it, l;ook at Pres Estrada?? what a dunce!! but he was President simply because he was a film star.

In UK if you are not anygood at your job in Gov't you will get your @ss kicked and get sacked, or forced to resiign, in Phils Gov't you are very safe. as long as you get elected you are IN! come on all Filipinos stand up and say I aint voting for a stupid film star, boxer, singer or anyone else,

    Political Dynasty in my hometown

Elections are family affairs in Negros Oriental

DUMAGUETE CITY -- It's all in the family.

Several political families in Negros Oriental are fielding more than one candidate in the May 14 elections,
in what many see as the families' bid to expand their influence throughout the province.

Data gathered from the Commission on Elections show that in some districts, spouses are jointly running for public office while in other places,
    it's father-son or brother-brother.

Starting from the first district, Rep. Jacinto Paras, who is barred from seeking a fourth consecutive term, has fielded his wife Olive as Kampi (Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino or Party of the Free Filipino) Party's bet against his own brother Jerome, who is seeking to return to his old post under the Nacionalista banner. Jacinto’s other brother, Joselito, is running for mayor of Guihulngan town.

In Canlaon City, Mayor Judith Blanco-Cardenas is running for re-election while her brother, Hernani Blanco, is running for re-election as city councilor.
La Libertad Mayor Josie Sy-Limkaichong is also seeking the congressional seat of the first district while her husband, Lawrence, is running to return to the mayoralty post. Both are running under the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) party.

In the town of Ayungon, former provincial board member Lorenzo Dy and wife Lee Faburada-Dy are running for mayor and vice mayor, respectively, under the Lakas-CMD.

In Bindoy, Vice Mayor Rosa Yap Paras (Kampi) is running for mayor while her brother, Mayor Valente Yap, is running for vice mayor.

In the town of Manjuyod, Amor Baldado is seeking re-election as mayor while his brother, Jose Baldado, is seeking re-election as provincial vice governor.

In Bais City, Mayor Hector Villanueva is running for re-election and daughter, Karen, is running for re-election as city councilor. Hector's first cousin, Francisco, is running for mayor.

In Pamplona town, Mayor Apolinario Arnaiz Jr. is running for re-election while his brother, Gov. George Arnaiz, is running for the province’s second congressional seat. Their father, Apolinario Arnaiz Sr., also sits on the provincial board.

Second district Rep.Emilio Macias II is running for governor of Negros Oriental under the Nationalist People’s Coalition banner, along with his son, Erwin, who is seeking re-election to the provincial board.
Dumaguete City Councilor Saleto Erames is running for provincial board member while his son, Rommel, is running for a seat on the city cCouncil and Saleto's brother, Arturo, is running for Dumaguete vice mayor.
In the town of Zamboanguita, husband and wife Marcelo and Lourdes Adanza are running for re-election as provincial board member and municipal mayor, respectively.

In Siaton town, former Mayor Teopisto Yap Jr. is running for board member while his son, Teopisto Yap III, is running for mayor."
With the retirement of 3rd district Rep. Herminio Teves from politics, his congressional seat is being contested by his grandson, Pride Henry Teves, and nephew, Edgar. Another grandson, Dan Leon, and a brother-in-law, George Villamor, are both running for city councilor in Dumaguete City.
