I've never been to a McDonalds in the Philippines. Several Jollibees (and I think their hamburgers are really pretty good - and the rest is an 'acquired taste'..). Here in Oz, McDonalds has been on a health kick last couple of years and is offering some great meat/salad combos and alternative healthy foods. And they've been doing well with it. I hope they do the same there in Dumaguete....

They still offer the traditional burgers here - and I still go there and get one sometimes....

The Jollibee pink sauce scares me. Also I think the "yum yum" should be called a "yuck yuck". :D

Jollibee's market caters to Filipino taste buds: sweet-sour taste..

cAN'T UNDERSTAND HOW ANYONE CAN BE PLEASED about this news.
I like Dumaguete because it has some nightlife without being commercial.
I detest Macdonalds. Its sh*te food run by the sort of greedy , crass
commercial corporations that I was trying to escape by living in Dumaguete
which had still managed to keep a sort of rustic charm.
Add big shopping malls and especially Macdonalds and you may as well live in Cebu or Manilla. My advice to Op is that if he misses this childish sh*ite food
then go and live in cebu and do us all a favour.
Macdonalds should be outlawed in my opinion
You are probably better off doing hard drugs than eating this sh*te.

Isn't it better to know there are more growing choices of places to go in Dumaguete? I am not a fan of McDo but I am pleased it will soon be in this small city of Dumaguete. It's a good news after all!

And comparing hard drugs like heroine and Mc Donalds burger, that's way out to compare the two.Hard drugs for sure will f*** ones brain .Mc Donald's can appease a child in real bad tantrums for a change. How's that?

Wow...judging from the volume of posts on this topic I guess McDonald's is a big deal to the people of Dumaguete....and judging from the inferred expletives in some recent posts this is not necessarily a positive development. I can certainly understand why. Ultimately, though, it's your choice if you want to eat there or not. For the sake of your health, though...don't

macdonalds is the opitomy of corporate America and thats just one of the reasons I loathe it. If you see the film "supersize me" it can clearly be seen that indeed macdonalds is very bad for your health.
After two weeks the the guy nearly died.
Rock stars have done hard drugs for decades and are still alive
so I would stand by my view that Macdonalds are worse for you than drugs.
It would be good for dumaguete to increase its options but for me Macdonalds is not one. Its for young kids birthdays. If you still like to eat it as an adult, you have some serious issues to contend with.
Now if we were to get a Zomboanga restaurant or similar excellent philippino restaurant then I'd be all for it, but Macdonalds, please.........
its for kids and sad, fat, taseteless morons.

Too bad I can't take my own advice about avoiding the place. I eat there way too much and I'm not a kid. I'm also not fat. So, I guess by default I am a sad, tasteless moron.

That's okay...God still loves me
