    I agree with you, Dave.
Now I know why Teach replies on this topic of 'Medicare for expats'.
He needs help :D (don't take me serious Teach)
Teach...... I do have a relation with STILL the same beautiful and lovely woman.
But being married is for us a NO NEED.
Does that feel different ? I don't think so, and she feels the same.

My reason is simple a practical one.
But maybe we will marry the day before my medical care has failed to keep me alive :D:D

Yes Jelly, look at the benefits, if you were married you would become the dependent of your asawa, she could insure you with PhilHealth for under 5000p a year and have a binding bond with you that she did not have before. But if such a commitment frightens you, self insurance may be your only option. I have checked some of the other providers mentioned already and I would not be able to afford those premiums at all. Asawa ko used to work for the insurance industry before we were married and she has nothing good to say about it.

    No problem Jellyfish

You know me I don't take things to heart..As long as they Don't start in on the Philippines. I'm fine with what ever works for you and yours. I just don't feel comfortable sleeping with a woman that I am not married too. Phil health is only 1,200 a year and that covers my wife and I, hard to beat it. :D

Well, that's good for you ... after 8 years here I would make the rough estimation that 90% of the male longnoses see that exactly the other way around... :D

Pedro, you can convince me if that Phil health is giving a good coverage.
Then maybe I will ask her on my knees if she wants to marry me :D
As far as I know (I did not read it all, honestly, but have heard most via others) there are many things (operations) which do not fall under the insured items, or you get only refunded a very small amount.
I hope I have to get soon on my knees (again )

Btw Teach, it does not bother me at all when sleeping with another woman, as long as I'm SLEEPING
If not YET sleeping, I probably will be quite nervous. I can't tell you why :D

Apart from all the cute comments on this thread, I'm wondering if anyone other than Teacher has had experience with PhilHealth, and whether they would recommend it. Thanks.

After a little more questioning of our sister in law she is telling us that benefits do not start until after one year of coverage. Here we are talking about insuring a family member who does not have steady employment. I am guessing the coverage is different when it is employer sponsored.
