Looking for recommendation of Diagnostic Center/Medical Laboratory around Dumaguete City that will perform the following tests: 1) ECG, 2) X-ray, 3) Cholesterol, 4) Fasting Blood Sugar 5)HEPA B 6)HIV test Thank you.
I see Dr Uy at the Silliman University Medical Center (SUMC). She is the only Blood Specialist on Negros (as far as I am aware) and I can honestly say she is a fantastic Specialist in her field! I pay 500 pesos per visit, plus extra for Blood Tests/ Phlebotomy etc at the Laboratory at the Silliman University Medical Center. I am having Sugar/ Cholesterol Tests done on my next visit along with my usual tests I have done. I assume same as I did; you will need to go there and gain a referral to see her, and then make an appointment. https://dumagueteinfo.com/local-businesses/dumaguete-medical-services/silliman-medical-center/
Brian I agree that the Doctor you mention is Good BUT SUMC is a leader in the Area of Blood and most of the Doctors can and do call for all the necessary Testing, but of course, it is not the doctor in particular that is good, it is the LAB and SUMC has a 1st class lab in that whatever the Doctor calls for, will be Tested and a result given. I for 1 have great faith in SUMC and the Lab regardless of what other Posters may or not say as many know along with Pat O, Broadside and a few others I am a Stroke Survivor and they have kept me going now for over 6+ years
Does SUMC will conduct all of these tests? 1) ECG, 2) X-ray, 3) Cholesterol, 4) Fasting Blood Sugar 5)HEPA B 6)HIV test
1 to 4 I can say yes ( I have them every 4 months. 5 & 6 I would say Yes but have never had one but I see they are on the Doctors Request form I have here so I guess they can ( although it does not say HIV but my wife tells me that this one is for that on a particular test [ how she knows that I don't know but.......... she is a Pinay and I won't argue]
When I went for my 13a I read it as I needed to have tests done also for Sexually Transmitted Disease's, so had one of those done along with other tests to prove I did not have a ''loathsome disease'' (I wanted to be safe rather than be sorry so had all tests plus some ran) They are able to screen for Hepatitis as I also had those tests done. (I later found at BOI in Cebu, despite what you read on the Government page, they do not even ask for, nor look at those tests, nor did they look at my Chest X-Ray - Rachel from the Travel Agency beside Dumaguete BOI who handled my 13a Application, told me those Tests were not required but I took it as gospel because they were listed on the Government page) One thing though; the Doctor may request that you have certain Tests done, but the Laboratory is not always able to perform certain tests. When you go to have the tests done, BEFORE you pay at the counter, go to the Laboratory and ask them which Tests can be performed that day, THEN get them to run a line through those which cannot, and then only pay for the Tests available. I found I was paying for one Test which is never available every time I went to have my blood taken. I use to just shrug it off thinking it was a cheap test, until the day I actually looked at the cost of the test. (I initially did not realise it was an 800php Test) When we tried to gain a refund, the guy at the Payment counter screwed us around for 3 days before the he eventually gave us our refund and that was only after getting my Dr involved. Considering that was maybe the 14th/15th time they had done that, I am sure they make a tidy sum from the many, who, like myself, do not bother to look into a refund thinking it is cheap. (Both the Dr AND the Lab told me that the guy at the Payment Counter KNOWS which Tests are/NOT available, so should NOT have charged me for them!) So double check with the Lab prior to paying, for tests which are not available, it is a PITA to try and gain a refund from the guy at the Payment Counter!
