    Homework!

 Well Lloyd, Welcome to DI, I hope things will turn out OK for you, You don't say if you are in the PI, a Local, A Foreigner, on Tourist status or Visa. I can't help you with a Band or Flowers ( Our lady Died last year) What I can do is, urge you to do some Homework on Marriage arrangements here in the PI. Not to cast any Doom and Gloom but there is a lot to do. You state a date, of Dec 17th. This is a long way off and I doubt you have the paperwork in order yet. If this is a Church Wedding not so bad, if it is a Civil Wedding a little more difficult, we have had many posts, on threads with problems to be overcome.
      1. CNI in Place
      2. CENOMAR in Place
      3. Pre marriage Seminar attended
      4. License application (After seminar)

If your intended Bride, is a Filipino (Or you for that matter) Sort that NSO Birth Certificate out, as soon as Possible.

Whilst I Wish you all the best, for the Future, Please do some Homework with this, many of us have had our problems and I had to change my Wedding date 3 times, Others will tell you a similar story.
Only After the Paperwork is in order, should you Book the Church or Reception Venue, Church well, OK I guess, to move a date if the Priest is a Nice one, The Reception/Wedding Venue, well Deposits have a habit of being NON Refundable:rolleyes:
If your marriage is Civil (ie; A Garden Wedding etc) and you need a Judge, there are still a fair few Formalities to Go through, I doubt very much a Judge will marry you on a Saturday (Interferes with His/Her Golf or Shopping.) 2/3 of the members here have been married by the Local Mayor, I am sure, they will impart their experience as time goes bye. You have 3 months after the License is issued, to meet that date you have quoted, you need to ensure the paperwork is in order by the End of this month to be certain, GOOD LUCK!
I am sure, I speak for quite a few here Lloyd, if you need any further information just SHOUT. If you are a Foreigner and things go wrong, be prepared for an extension on your Exit dates. Lets Hope, if this unfortunate thing happens, your return Ticket can be changed. GOOD LUCK.

    Jack P.

Hi Lloyd and welcome. I had a wedding and reception here last year and it turned out nicely. I can give you all the details you are interested in. The Local guy I used for a master of ceremonies and is also a singer brought in a great guitar player and female singer. His name is Tyrone and cell is 09173140299, and I think a DI member, Archon Man of Steel, was the guitar player and also sang. Good luck. As JackP suggested, hopefully you have all your paperwork sorted out by now, if not, contact me and I can walk you through the process.

I got married 19 months ago here in phils. I'm from the USA. As for the paperwork, I needed an original certified copy of my birth certificate, an original certified copy of why I was single now (a death certificate for my previous wife), a trip to the US Consulate in Cebu for a permission slip to marry, 3 marriage classes (one day total), marriage license from our city hall, signed permission from my wife's mother because she was under 25 years old, and misc. forms and fees and such. Actually, not too bad.

And just reading Jack P's reply above, I also changed our wedding date 3 times due to just about every reason imaginable.
    Paperwork first.......

Ours was a civil wedding, first the judge went to Manila (for a meeting) so we re-scheduled for the Mayor. Then the Mayor went somewhere (?), so we ended up being married by the assistant Mayor, in the Mayors office.

Our main expense was the reception, held at my in-laws home, for over 100 relatives and friends. Food and driinks cost about 100,000 pesos total.

    Good luck....
