    What's wrong with you people? You are in Dgte, not Makati. If you train at a gym, you can do most anything you need to do in terms of weight training or cardio. If you want a spa, wrong city.

    Why? Boracay is not Makati too but they got great SPA....

    Right, Boracay is a resort town and Dumaguete is well...Dumaguete.

    Do what I do, own some free weights and run/bike on the beach or on a trail. All the exercise I need.

    Thanks for the article Kdf, interesting and informative. Unknowingly, I was doing it right but only because I don't like to do weights when I am sweating like a dog from cardio. As I got older, I started doing cardio first because I figured I would be too tired at the end to do cardio. Now that I have plenty of fat to burn, I will go back as the article suggested. Thanks

    Btw, new gym opening is now scheduled for May 8.

    This is a funny thread. I've worked in both fields. I've trained people in the gym and also worked in the expediting field in NYC.
    In regards to the permits, it's a b*tch to be found to have done work without a permit in this city. Usually, if it's like a boiler installed, the fines from the city are workable. A couple of paperwork filed and paid, and the city will be off your back. But if you've done a renovation without a change-of-use or change of egress permit, you're f*cked. The fines would be very expensive, and getting a Certificate of Occupancy, which is required for any commercial/residential use, after a violation can be very hard and expensive. The only way to get/keep your business open is to file for 3 month Temporary Cert. of O., more money down the drain, until you get your CofO. But I don't really know how things are in Dumaguete, lol.

    In regards to the gym:
    -Best time to work out for Cardio: Right after you wake up, drink water, go for a run or bike, whatever. You've used up your stored Sugars and will be getting into the fats.
    -Best time to work out for Weight training: Anytime, just make sure you're eating right. The protein in-take you had the day before will be more crucial to your weight training than the protein your take in after the work out.
    Advice: Either-or: Have your Cardio days and Weight training on different days. Why? So you can focus on one and not get burnt out. And staying in a gym for too long can be counter productive. EAT RIGHT!

    Okay, i'm getting on my own nerves now, haha.
